I picked this up to transport eggs while traveling between job sites, and it's been a great little solution. When you're on the road a lot like I am, having something sturdy to protect your food just makes life easier—and this egg holder does exactly that. It keeps everything secure, and I haven't had to deal with any cracked eggs since using it. The hard plastic construction feels tough and durable, and it holds eggs firmly in place during transport. The built-in handle is a nice touch, making it easy to carry along with the rest of my gear. I can also see this being perfect for camping trips, picnics, or even carrying hardboiled eggs without worrying about them getting smashed. Overall, the pros are clear: it's lightweight but strong, protects eggs well, easy to carry, and versatile for travel or outdoor use. It's also dishwasher safe, which makes cleanup simple. The only downside is that it's a bit bulky compared to a carton, so it takes up more space—but that's the trade-off for solid protection.
I'm sick of worrying about cardboard egg cartons in my cooler. The factory cardboard packing dissolves, when it gets wet from the ice. This will solve the problem. I would recommend LARGE or X Large eggs, because anything less will still fit loosely. I'm going to use it for glamping (large coolers), and if I go backpacking, I'll use it for hard boiled eggs. I'm on a high protein low carb diet, so eggs will be the perfect snack!
This is an excellent product for transporting my eggs to work for breakfast! They are never broken and it's a compact and convenient way to carry them in my thermal lunch bag.
a Three pack for ten dollars is a great deal
So convenient for road trips. Takes up so little room %26 does the job.
This Egg Holder works well for the 'frig, too.
Cheap, does it's job, pretty basic container, but very useful
I container really came in handy for space conservation. I always by the big large case of eggs which usually takes up a lot of space in my kitchen refrigerator. I usually keep the eggs outside in the garage refrigerator. With the container I can bring a dozen of eggs in the house at a time and don't have to leave the house each time I need an egg.
My Kroger brand extra large eggs are too big for this holder. It cracked one but I was still able to cook it. I stored it on it's side in my mini fridge door shelf and luckily nothing leaked out of it. Too many misleading reviews about extra large eggs fitting in it. I will buy large eggs in the future. I wish it had come with instructions because half of the sections has raised knobs for some reason. It's still great for storage in a small fridge.
This carrier works great for camping and short term storage of eggs. It is not waterproof if that matters to you. However, do not store eggs in this long term. By accident we left some eggs in this for over a month at our camp (in the fridge), and when cracked, the whites had become a fluorescent yellow color. I can only assume that the color was absorbed from the container through the pores in the shell.
