I'm an actual artist and I love these for sketching outlines before I paint watercolors 💕 they dont muddy up the painting the way graphite does. Plenty of colors and they erase wonderfully if you don't press too hard. They sharpen wonderfully too, seem to be a little harder than the creamy artist prismacolor colored pencils.
I didn't initially realize that these were the prismacolor brand from the images shown on the listing, I just remembered having a set of crayola erasable pencils that I loved last time I was in school. As an adult now again in school, I had a project to do that required some illustrations and I'm no artist I will be perfectly honest. These pencils were absolutely perfect for my needs, though I will say can be quite difficult to erase completely on certain less heavy style papers, so do a quick test patch first so you aren't expecting it to erase cleanly when it may not. Otherwise, performance and pigment quality was clearly much much better than crayola erasable pencils are.
Great pencils for value. My kid's teacher require this for their supply list.
I use these to sketch out my colored drawings and watercolor/gouache paintings. I select a color that works for the area or the whole composition. If I need to make an adjustment they erase easily and when working on the final piece, they blend in.
Beautiful colors - holds the point well.
Really doesn't erase well but does good shading
Ran across these awesome pencils recently and they are perfect! The ability to layer and blend colors adds so much value to your drawing that I never got with the expensive pencils (and I have more than $600 worth). Speaking of blending... it's wonderful to be able to take a soft brush and lightly brush your pigment around as if it were graphite. I love needing only my soft blender brush, a cotton ball and a q-tip to perfect my art. These are amazing! They are water soluble so be careful if you use a fixative and spray from a good distance spraying only a mist, then allow it to fall on your artwork. A few layers will be needed. They work very well with wax and oil based colored pencils. I find the Prisma Verithins blend in flawlessly for my sharp final touches. I've even used my Faber Castell and Lyra in the final stage also to add some depth and value. Highly recommend! Within 3 months I've already needed to reorder because I can't stop creating!
Recently purchased these because I needed new sketching pencils. Pretty happy with them overall, although I wish they erased a little bit better, but oh well. I paid a little over $8 (including tax and shipping) for these, which sure beats the price of $15-20 I would've spent buying them from an art supplies website!
good price and works well. I'd buy again.
I've bought several items from prismacolor, these items are of average quality. you must use a knife to sharpen, they are really soft, and don't blend at all. if they offer you an online lesson, good luck. I've tried for 3 months to redeem code. they make it impossible. you can spend $10 and get the lesson, but, i seriously doubt that code works either. customer service is non existent. so, beware!!!!
