Coleman Classic 52 QT Hard Side Ice Chest Cooler, Lakeside Blue

I love Coleman products I’ve been using them the majority of my life I don’t camp quite as much as I used to but I still use your products. Probably about 28 years ago I bought a Coleman windbreaker came in a little pouch that would fit in the palm of your hand about two years ago I just got rid of it. It was just too worn out anymore and I cannot find another one to replace it and so that makes me sad.

This is a high-quality, very well-made item. Walmart had an excellent price, which prompted me to order six for my business. Unfortunately, Walmart did not appear to have six of the items available from the location that my initial order went to. This caused me to look for and place an order for the same item at a different Walmart location to make up the difference.

Nice size and quality. I have a cheaper cooler and a crazy expensive one. I like this Coleman cooler because it keeps things colder than the cheaper one and has a screw in drain plug. I also like that it's not as heavy and the walls aren't as thick as my expensive cooler, but still does the job.

This cooler is a good size for two people to camp for a few days. The 52 Qt. container is a bit heavier than a 48 Qt. size, but the depth is perfect. We use 1 Qt. juice bottles with frozen water as our cooling source. The depth of the cooler allowed us to put in 4 bottles of frozen water and 1- 10 oz. bottle (for a plastic tray we had for our fruit). After a 2 night trip when the day temps were in the mid to upper 80s and nights in the 60s, we found that all four large bottles had a chunk of ice. We could have done another night without buying more ice. I like the fact that the hinges are made of metal, not plastic which will make the cooler last longer.

I purchased this for transporting cold and frozen items while grocery shopping out and about. It holds a lot and does a good job of keeping items cold. When you open the lid, you can feel the cold air like a refrigerator. It has comfortable handles for lifting and there are cupholders on top. I removed one star because I don't like the hinge system. It seems flimsy and am not sure how long it will last but the biggest thing is that the lid will slam shut on you with nothing to lock it open. This happens if it's on a slightly uneven surface or if it gets bumped. You literally need to use the old-fashioned stick method to keep it open for safe loading/unloading.

Excellent cooler for the Price. Very lightweight and sturdy. We wish the hinge design was a little more rugged, but so far, it has held up well during a week at the beach. Also wish the lid would open a bit further, so it wouldn't fall back down once you flip it open, but that isn't really a big deal. A latch would also be nice to keep it closed, but not essential. The drain spout was very handy and leak-free when closed. Well worth the purchase price of $37 before tax. Would purchase again.

I purchased this for my boat to go under the seat. But on the website it said this cooler was 16.25 inches tall but when I got it its 17" tall and it will not fit. Now I need to just get rid of it because its useless to me. Please do a better job on your description Coleman.

The dimensions given for this cooler fit perfectly INSIDE this cooler -so if you want more space inside the cooler, you'll be thrilled, but if you're trying to pack your car for a road trip and need to know the true size of the product, your math is about to be completely thrown off.

The cooler is study and worked well to keep things cool. I still had ice in it after 2 days with the cooler being in about 72 degrees. Happy with the cooler. I gave it 4 stars because the hinges seem cheap. The actual hinge portion of the hinges for the cover is just a plastic strip that allows bending. I wonder how many cycles of opening and closing the cover will have the hinge tear and break. I have an old Cott cooler that has plastic hinges that the hinge portion looks like an actual door hinge and it is 25 years old and still the hinges are perfect. Will the hinges on this Coleman cooler last as long? Not so sure about that.

I ordered two of these the day before a graduation party because borrowing fell through. One showed up with the drain cap completely broken off and missing. The other was fine but it leaked anyway. I put an old wine cork in the broken one and a towel under the leaky one. These will work fine outdoors, but they will leak in your house. It's too bad because they are huge, inexpensive, and they keep the ice cold for days. Keep some spare towels handy.
