well made, well thought out, fits 2 adults plus child or dog, fits 4 children w supervision, might be tight for 3 adults, capacity is 420 lbs, very stable, have not tried to deflate and put back into the carry bag yet the bundled paddle for $32 is a great buy too good service at WalMart.com A+
My Husband and I have rented Kayaks for playing in local Ponds and Lakes, but the Hard Shell type are so heavy and we would have to buy a Trailer to haul them around, so when we saw this Inflatable one on line we decided to try it out. Easy to inflate, and not too heavy for us to move around, Nice Canvas type covering, nicely made, roomy, and fun. We bought the 3 man in case one of the Grandkids wanted to come along, so glad we did, having the leg room is nice for just 2 people.
Very satisfied with the overall quality and construction of this kayak. We have only had it out on a calm lake once since receiving it,but it tracked very well and had plenty of room for two adults and gear. This is our second inflatable kayak, the previous one lasted us over ten years,it was a sea eagle 370.Time will tell if the apparent quality of the big basin will provide same type of longevity.
We bought this as an option to our hard side canoe, which is more difficult to lift up, tie down, and transport on the top of our F150. We tried out the Sevylor 3-person Kayak, and so far it has met all expectations. It does not have the extra room of a traditional canoe, but for short, casual paddles on the lake, it works great! It is not too heavy for one person to handle, and it inflates quickly with the Sevylor car pump that we purchased along with the kayak. Seats are adjustable, so it comfortably holds my wife, myself, and our teenage son, but even more room if you go with only two paddlers. Deflates very quickly, and folds up into an easy to carry bundle. Because of all these reasons, we have decided to sell our hard canoe and make our paddling life a lot easier!
There are things I love about this and things I hate. Hate: -there is a quick deflate cap at the bottom that can easily pop out if it snags on something. Don't forget the fin because that increases the chances of this happening. It happened on our first float, but the sides functioned so well that I barely noticed. Without the fin, the kayak is harder to steer because of it's length. -one of the valves does not fit the sevylor pump I have, which was extremely frustrating. I had to figure something out on the fly. This made setup take forever, and it caused me to feel rushed for the rest of the day and insecure about if it was properly inflated -the seats offer no support. They have a great cushion but don't allow for an ergonomic lumbar support while rowing, too much recline even when tightened all the way. Love: -color is appealing -quality fabric. Similar to high end patio furniture, this weather resistant fabric seems easy to dry and is slip resistant compared to other inflatables I have had in the past. -Thick bottom cushion. I bottomed out a few times and never felt any pain or discomfort -comfortable inflation level for resting legs on the rim. I don't know if others do this, but I like to paddle with my legs hanging off the sides so that my legs can get a stretch and some sun. The elevation of the sides was perfect for this, and I felt very relaxed. -handles strategically placed for easy carrying -relatively light weight for size. I am a solo parent, so everything I do has to be something I can do with my toddler alone. I picked this kayak because it allows me to inflate while my kid is in his wagon or car seat, and I simply carry my child, place the kayak in the wagon, and roll it to the boat launch. -secure. I felt very stable the whole ride, and even when my toddler got up and started to get wrestless, I never worried about tipping. -pressure gage was super easy to use and made inflation less of a guessing game.
I like this kayak because the materials seem to be pretty strong, easy to set up - although no instructions. It tracks very well, speed is ok for inflatable, against wind is ok. - I give 90 points for these. However, I found 2 air chambers squeeze my butt from both sides - very uncomfortable although I am not a big person. The beam should be a little wider. These seats do not inflate easily, and tend to loose air soon. Blowing air into these seats from small air valves are very difficult.... inflate - close the lid - already loose a half the air. Manufacturer needs to replace these cheap air valves. Carrying bag is also weak. It tore and its eye led came off in the first use. Totally I give 3 stars. Do you, manufacturer, replace carrying bag and seats?
going to return, not as stable as we would like it to be with kids
Very uncomfortable, the seats are a joke. No foot rest so you slide forward. We had to deflate the seat so the back rest would be higher and even then there was no support. Our Coleman 12V pump was not strong enough to get it up to 1.5 psi. , maybe .5 lbs psi so a special 12V pump is needed to inflate to 1.5 psi. Save your $
Holes in raft
We bought this two years ago and loved it initially. However, one pontoon develped constant seam leaks and one of the valves became defective. I have searched and searched for the correct valve and I can not find it. Sevylor has NO customer support. There is no one to call or write with issues and they do not sell replacement parts.
