These are basic camp-style waterproof matches with a larger match head and a waterproof striking surface designed to help you get a flame even in damp conditions. They're inexpensive and sold in packs with multiple boxes of 40 matches each, so you get plenty for your trips.
Coleman Camp Matches are reliable and easy to light, even in outdoor conditions. The long matchsticks provide extra reach for lighting grills, fire pits, and camp stoves safely. They burn steadily and are a convenient essential for camping trips, backyard gatherings, or emergency kits.
I thought my purchase was for a single box of 40 matches, but was pleasantly surprised to receive 4 boxes of 40 matches. I don't know how they do it, but it was $1.81 TOTAL, with free FexEx shipping to my house. I'm thinking Walmart lost a few cents on that sale!
These matches work perfectly. I haven't tried them in the rain or snow but I'm sure they will work fine.
Highly effective and long in length makes it easy to use. They are safe to use especially because these are longer than the other brands. Burns slowly to give enough time.
after receiving them i put them to in to water for about 1 min. took it out of the water dried it and used it work the stick was a bit soft yet still did the job, a few day later we had high winds it might work better if the winds are less then 40 mph they worker well in low to moderate winds i plan on using these while hiking this yr and for camping know that they will work well
This is always a must! Easy to use, easy to store, easy to light. They always burn well and the strike pad always lasts as well. This is something I will always have on hand and is perfect for camping, storage, survival kit you name it. 1 box can last a while with how many are in there and that's amazing!
I also got four packs of 40 matches for $1.88--great value! But don't get them delivered to your home, because it will have to be signed for, in person, by someone over 21. No, they won't leave a thing on your door that you can sign and leave for them, you have to actually be home. The package will say "Hazardous Materials" all over it, and generally you will feel as if you have purchased a grenade or something, instead of a few matches. For the item itself, the matches do work even if they are wet. However, I did not have a lot of luck using them if the striking surface was wet. These are not, of course, "strike anywhere" matches, so it's important that the striking surface works when wet. I did find that the striking surface worked if it had recently been wet, so you could dry it off briefly on your clothes or something and it should work.
I thought these matches had some length, as for lighting a fire. They are very small matches. Less than 2 inches long and skinny. They burn fast. And my four little boxes cost 8.50. Walmart offers thicker, slightly longer matches, a box of 250 Diamond brand for 97 cents.
I thought I was getting 3 bags of 4 40 packs as advertised in the photos for $20 but instead I got 3 boxes of 40 what a ripoff went to my local Walmart and they are 3.99 for a bag. Word of advice buy in person because the last couple things I have bought were either fake or not as advertised
