CONTOUR®NEXT Blood Glucose Test Strips, 70 Count

I have only good things to say about my Contour Next Gen Blood Glucose Monitor, and the Contour Next test strips. It uses less blood, is very accurate, and the test strips are made in Japan, so that makes my expectations on quality and workmanship a lot higher. As always, another fine medical product from Japan!

I recently became aware that i was pre diabetic, started a better way of eating and some meds to control my glucose levels but with that also came daily checking my glucose, my wife got the contour next meter and so far I'm glad of the performance, it keeps track of my levels and doesn't require a lot of blood to run.

Even though I do have health insurance, I have not pursued then covering my blood sugar testing equipment. They are always in stock from Wal-Mart when I order them, and the price is very reasonable. They seem to be accurate, and I am pleased with them.

I'm using my second Contour Next blood sugar monitor because of its high quality, plus it communicates with my smart phone. These strips are from the same manufacturer, designed especially for this monitor. But through Walmart the same strips cost less.

This Gllucose monitor is easy and straight forward to use our of the box. So far readings are consistent with the doctors readings and a cgm device. Easy to use, has an led light that changes colors based on blood sugar level, green for in range, yellow for above range, and red for dangerous levels.

Love, love, LOVE these strips! Wait, is this lady nuts? Who LOVES glucose tests strips? MEEEE!!!! A caregiver to a family of diabetics, seriously even my dog had a tumor removed that nicked her pancreas making her diabetic. I'm like a walking diabetic supply store, they sell it, I carry it. Not anymore. No need to watch a million videos and still worry about accuracy with these babies, you didn't get enough blood, no worries they give you MORE time! That's insanely helpful and instead of waiting desperately on pins and needles for a response only to get another error code these strips actually work (even on the dog…shhh. I compared them to her vet glucometer). So anything that makes me have to stab my loved ones one less time because it works the first time is well worthy of my LOVE!

Theres room for at least 100 strips per bottle but they send only 10! I was able yo put FOUR bottles worth in one bottle inside the ill fitting case with room to spare!

Contour Next test strips received out of date. Shipped from FM pharmacies. Can't return due to other "Walmart Policies.". Assume because they are medical tests strips. Will have to try to return/get refund at the local Walmart. Never owned Contour Next Glucose meter but purchased to verify accuracy of the CVS model that I have been using since being diagnosed type 2 in January 2023. Ordered both 2-23-2023. Received test strips 2-24-2023 expiration date: 1-31-2023 Received meter 2-28-2023 Tested glucose with both meters with wildly different results (CVS 104, Contour 144) Used the control and tested the Contour meter with the stripes from the meter kit (10/31/2023 expiration) and not the expired ones i ordered separately. First result was out of range at 154. 2nd result was in range on very high side of 138. range for tests strips is level 2,. 112-140. honestly.. don't trust the meter either. going to return both.

Product was in a paper package, which might have been OK, except that the box inside the package was smashed and one of the two little containers of (sterile) diabetic test strips was broken %26 the contents spilled out into the bag, thereby contaminating all of those test strips %26 rendering them useless. I have tried to request a refund or replacement, but cannot reach a live person. I even tried to exchange it at the local store; but the folks there said that they could not do anything %26 I would have to try to contact the Walmart online people. So far, no luck.

I was disappointed to see that one of these boxes had the disclaimer, for Medicare/Medicaid use only. Reselling a product with that message is fraudulent, in my opinion. I will not reorder.
