Good outfit
I went fishing with this rod and reel a few days ago for the opening day of trout season here in Pa. The morning was a bit cool and the fish were kind of sluggish and not hitting on flies so I changed my bait to wax worms and meal worms. I hammered those fish. As soon as my bait hit the water it didn't go 30 seconds until I had a bite. I had caught my limit of fish within 2 hours and I had to go home. This rod and reel performed very well. This was the first time I had been fishing in 15 years and it only took me 5 minutes to get the feel for it again. I don't have anything negative to say about this fly fishing outfit. My outfit came in 5/6 weight and when I had larger trout on the line it was more challenging. This outfit is very lightweight.

great 1st fly fishing combo
If you are thinking of getting into fly fishing this is a great combo to get. It comes with everything you need ,even a couple of flies.I have had mine for 6months with no issues.I have caught many trout & am totally hooked on fly fishing.For the money you cant go wrong.

This rod seems like a great deal… don't be fooled.
This fly rod seems like a great deal. However, the rod itself is VERY top heavy and difficult to control. Additionally, the pre-tied floating lead and tapered leader have a god awful knot. It is a massive knot and poorly tied. Save yourself the trouble and get a cortland FairPlay 8' graphite rod. They are so much lighter and the control is great.
