Sharp and a good price. Get it.

Steve February 28, 2022

Surprised how very sharp this cleaver is. It has a relatively thin blade. Used it for vegetables and beef but not on bones yet. Very happy so far. Recommended and a reasonable prices. I had a similar but slightly heavier cleaver I had bought on Amazon that had good reviews but this cleaver is much sharper and more usable. You won't go wrong buying it.

The best cleaver ever! Never disappoints!

NikkiW June 6, 2021

This is the best cleaver I ever owned to date. I used it to filet chicken breast and it sliced through like butter. If you aren’t careful, you can easily cut yourself.

Talk About Sharp!

Momof4 January 30, 2023

This is the sharpest knife I've ever owned! I had partially thrawed chicken breasts last night and used this knife. Wow, it went thru the chicken with ease and little effort. You just need to be careful! Keep your fingers away from the blade. It is great that it has a protective cover to keep in drawer from accidental cuts. It has a good weight and i will use this knife again and again.

“Leave It To Cleaver”

Curlygirl59 January 26, 2023

The Cuisinart Stainless Steel Meat Clever is a handy kitchen tool. It is balanced for easy chopping. The handle is ergonomic for comfort. I like this type of kitchen tool for cutting ribs and chicken. One or two hits while the piece of meat is on the cutting board is all you need to do. It is a lot safer than using a knife because the weight of the clever makes it easier to cut. I used it to cut up a chicken. It was fast and effective. I also like that there is a blade cover for storage. I recommend this clever for ease of use and efficiency.

A New Favorite Kitchen Tool

Bimy January 26, 2023

As intimidating as I thought it would be to hold a big cleaver; I quickly realized how easy it was to use, and to chop uniformly sized, fresh onions, celery and garlic for a home made soup. Another big bonus was that I didn't need to switch to another tool (my dough blade) to scoop up all the chopped little bits into the soup pot. And as another perk; the stainless steel material on the blade AND the handle does not retain the strong odors of onion or garlic. And finally, the blade protector will keep the edge sharper, longer, in the knife drawer. I was a little concerned about a hollow handle, since I like my knives to have the balanced weight of a solid handle. The hollow handle felt absolutely fine. I was also worried the larger blade would be heavy in my smaller hand; but that was not the case. Of course, there's the horrible thought I'd lose a finger :-0 Well, I've been watching too many scary movies! It was as easy to use as my large chef knife; and just as much fun. I carefully hand wash all my blades, and never lay them in the sink, or allow the blade edge to touch anything but the cutting board. It's too easy to get a nicked edge; and to hard to arrange for resharpening. I am very happy with this new kitchen tool. My son told me years ago that a cleaver was his tool of choice for many jobs. We are both experienced home cooks who enjoy learning new things in the kitchen.

Good value. A good everyday cutter thing!

EngineerHeaded January 30, 2023

While not perfectly balanced, like much more expensive cleavers, it does balance well. Weight distribution seems good. While I have had other Cuisinart and KitchenAid knives of similar construction, I know to be careful, especially with Frozen meats where the blade could hit bone. The extra hardness from those types of pieces can wreak havoc on the blade.

Another Great Cuisanart product! i love this Cuisanart Stainless Steel 7" Cleaver Knife. No only does it cut through any meat or veggies i use it on, I told my daughter it would be a good weapon to tape to the back of our doors in case of a break in! it will go through just about anything!

essential kitchen tool

4stringinformer January 26, 2023

this stainless steel cutlery cleaver is perfect for cutting up whole chickens, steaks, and all of your other kitchen needs. the blade and the handle are actually one piece, so there is no need to worry about the handle coming loose, breaking off, etc. the blade is extremely sharp and the blade guard is a smart safety feature.

Well-balanced knife for chopping and safe to store

gilbertgmc February 5, 2023

This Cuisinart Stainless Steel cleaver is a good looking knife out of the package, however, after a few uses it seems to stain, despite it being stainless steel. I can't get the blade nice and clean looking again. However, the cleaver itself is a decent knife. I like that it's all one piece...I'm not sure what it's called, full bolster or something so you don't have to worry about the handle ever coming loose. It's all one piece of metal which makes it comfortable to use and well-balanced. I love that the cleaver comes with a blade Guard that slips right onto it for safe storage in the drawer. It's a wonderful idea that has probably saved some fingers as we keep all kinds of things in our kitchen drawers. The knife cuts pretty well. I've used it for chopping chicken, beef and veggies and it's sufficiently sharp but I feel that it will dull quickly so you may need to sharpen it regularly.

Light with Good Balance and Thin Blade

JoeDoakes January 26, 2023

I use my 7" knife mostly for vegetable but from time to time I'll use it to cut chops and steak from porkloin and striploin. While this knife was very sharp when I got it I still hit it with a steel to true the edge. This knife holds an edge quite well compared to my thin-blade knives but I find I must steel it friquently (after each five pounds of vegetables) to keep it that way. I have not yet needed to touch-up the blade with a wet stone and I expect I won't need to for a couple of months. Although I hold it more up on the blade than the tang and handle, I wish it had some checkering or texturing on the handle - there is none, and the handle gets slick if my hands are wet or have even a little oil on them. The supplied blade guard fits firmly and stays in place in a knife drawer (that's good for the blade and safe for the fingers). It looks professional and cuts like a champ without too much pressure.
