So far so good. Have been using this up to the 6 setting for 3 days now. Cooked burger , french toast, and soups. No smoke came out. Started with 1 setting and slowly got to 6 without any issues on my first use.

I bought this as a gift for a friend of mine, and he says he really really likes it 👌😊

The set up very easy, the element heats up very quick and cooks fairly evenly.

The extra 500 watts makes a substantial difference when boiling a large pan of water or frying/sautéing food. Expensive by comparison to other single burners but worth the value.

It heats up very well. The only thing that I would change is the knob, it turns very hot. If they could change that part then this would be a five star product!

This is a good price hot plate. My only concern is that it gets very hot all over and even on the knobs.

While it works well, it gets extremely hot around the hotplate itself. I imagine that if the cord touches the unit around the hotplate, it could melt. Not so safe to use between the housing getting so hot, and the danger to the cord.

BASE OF UNIT GETS ALMOST AS HOT AS THE HEATING ELEMENT. TAKES 15 MINUTES TO COOL DOWN ENOUGH TO BE HANDLED WITHOUT OVEN MITS.

The second time using this hot plate, boiling a pot of water all 4 feet/legs melted off of this product. Fire hazard! Dangerous! My personal thought is that Walmart discontinued the sale of this hot plate, fire hazard and liability. Not recommended for human or any other use.

The main issue with this hot plate is that the entire plate gets as hot as the burner itself. The entire unit gets as hot as the burner and you can get burned by coming in contact with it. Also, the handles that are used to turn the hot plate on are unreadable. It is an awful product. I am going to return it.
