Dark Walnut, Varathane One Step Interior Wood Stain + Polyurethane, Semi-Gloss -337037, Quart

I used this on a 100 year old floor. I'm not terribly experienced with floor finishing, and I later read on the can it's not recommended for floors, but I knew this would create a uniform color easily. The more coats applied, the darker the finish. (In the past, I used a gray color on my kitchen cabinets to get a solid gray color with the poly durability. ) This floor has seen it all pretty much--red paint around the edges, what looked like tan paint, black spots from an old oil stove, some regular lighter finished areas. This is the only product I know that had any chance of handling the job. Dry time was fast, and after an hour I was applying the second coat, which was again dry in an hour. The pics are before and after 2 coats. The floor isn't sealed yet....waiting for spring warmth for that. This is only 2 coats of the poly stain. I've got puzzle mats on pretty much most of the floor to protect it until then.

Low odor, fast drying, even coverage, and easy clean up is beyond expectations. Will buy again for additional projects.

This stuff is great and reasonably priced. Dries in 1/2 to 1 hour and glossy finish. My picnic table took two coats after sanding down to bare wood. Applies way nicer looking with brush than roller and cleans up just water.

I refinished a couple of very old antique side tables. I am rather sure the original color of the tables was a dark walnut. When I bought them, they were an awful yellowish green color. Now, the tables are absolutely beautiful. I wasn't too sure about using this stain since it is water based but I decided to give it a try. I only needed to use two coats and have plenty left for other projects. The stain is rather thick so a little goes a long way. It is also very fast drying. I would strongly suggest this product and by the way, clean up was a breeze.

Loved this I repurposed a dresser and was hesitant on the color because I thought it was two light but after a few coats it was exactly what I was looking for I'm in love with the outcome.!!! It was easy to apply dry time was fast and it didn't smell to much.

I was not a big fan of the stain and varnish. It did not go on smooth like I thought it would. I thought this would save me time but it ended up costing me more time.
