This summer in central Texas the lights are coming on just before dark and staying on until just before dawn. I haven't strung them in the yard yet, they're just hanging in a couple of loops from the eaves out back, but the solar panel is up that high as well and in full sun all day. I'm a bit surprised that they really do last all night.

This product is far more versatile than other reviews imply. Recently the trend has been to include a USB charging port in the battery housing of these lights. This feature offers more versatility and use in indirect sun conditions. My set arrived with a low charge so it needed 4 hours of USB charging to top it off. You can plug in a portable phone charger pack to double or triple the total battery capacity, or add a 5 watt solar panel input to assure charging in partially shaded locations. The tiny red/green charging indicator LEDs are concealed under the rubber cover for the USB socket so you only see them during USB powered charging. These are soft white/amber lights for mood lighting, NOT work lights so reviewers who complained about dim light are being unrealistic. Lights are spaced about 3 1/2 feet apart on the string. THE STRING CAN BE DOUBLED BACK ON ITSELF FOR LIGHTS EVERY 2 FEET, each light socket has a convenient little clip hook so you can hook it back onto the string to make a brighter area. It comes with a yard stake and mounting screws, a short USB charging cord and one spare bulb. The mount swivels in two directions so any sun angle can be caught with effortless positioning. The string will still work with one or more bulbs removed or burned out. You can stretch the battery duration by removing some of the bulbs. I like the very tough and clear hard plastic bulb shells that are break resistant, they use a standard sized threaded mini base socket. This wire string is more robust than other string lights but it should not be expected to last when you stretch it across spans of more than 8 feet. For long runs, stretch a 1/8th inch paracord or similar cord tightly and clip the string's lights to the rope. This will let them survive strong winds, perching birds or small falling branches. The clips are on one side of the sockets, not on the top, so plan out your installation if you are going to clip it onto existing edges, fences or bushes. The battery case is closed with screws, meaning you should be able to replace bad/worn out batteries but that may require soldering. Many solar light sets have sealed batteries which can not be replaced. The battery pack turns off the lights when daylight hits it. You can leave it on and not worry about a need to turn it on every night.

I love these solar lights. No electricity required. They are long enough to hang on our patio and look amazing. You can change to blinking or flashing if you want.

I bought 2 strands of these lights and have found that no matter how much sun exposed they get they do not charge long which is disappointing. How ever they look great when they are lit .

I had high hopes for these, and they ARE beautiful, but the lights will only turn on for about 2 seconds at a time and then shut off. I have left the solar panel out for a full day, charged it with a USB, and cycled through all of the light modes. The bulbs turn on and then quickly shut off. Will be returning because of this, unfortunately.

if your looking for a solar light, these arent for you. i bought these to use camping and I've had to charge them every night with usbc cable because the solar function barley works . They'll light up for maybe an hour and die with just using the solar function. Its an inconvenience to keep removing and charging it. I bought another thinking it was just that particular light and i had a defective one. To my surprise, they both did the same thing. Its sad because i really liked the style and calmness of the lights themselves. But the solar function is the reason i bought the lights so i cant help but to dislike them.

These solar string lights come with a molded plastic clip for mounting. There is no screw hole. The plastic clip is flimsy. There is no mounting hardware included. So, how do you hang them?

it was quite obvious the lights were a return previous to me. the solar panel had fingerprints all over it and the 3 lights on the power thing were blinking green when i opened it. i had normt done anything with it. the 3 blinking lights will not shut off.
