It took me a LONG time to decide, if at all, which bed that we would ultimately purchase. I wasn't sure if I wanted a twin/twin, twin/full or twin/futon. I knew I wanted a LOT of clearance between the bottom bunk and top bunk and that the bed HAD TO BE SAFE AND STURDY! I'm so glad I chose this one. We now have, for our son, a high top bunk with both a couch AND a double bed on the bottom. There are 44" clearance when sitting on the futon/bed. We LOVE it, but there were a few cons that we've fixed. The ladder is stationary and only on the left side of the bed. His ceiling fan is pretty much right over that ladder, so he has to crouch when climbing to and from the top bunk in order to miss the fan, plus the thin, square metal rungs hurt your feet when climbing. We built a new ladder out of wood and positioned it directly to the left of the built-in ladder and now he doesn't have to crouch to miss the fan. Also, although the bed is well built and sturdy, it's a little shaky when my 55 lb son moves around on the top bunk. My husband secured the bed to the wall by screwing a 2X4 to a stud in the wall and clamping the bed to the 2X4 with "L" brackets that are screwed into the 2X4. The bed doesn't move at all now. We've never had a futon before, so I wasn't sure what my options were for the bottom bunk in terms of material, thickness and comfort. What I did do was buy an inexpensive 6", size 'double' futon. It was OK in quality, feel and comfort, but not great. I ended up cutting our 2" thick memory foam mattress topper to size and put it under the futon. It's perfect now! So comfortable and even helps the futon to stay in place without it sliding around. The max weight for the whole bed is 600 lbs. and 225 for the top bunk; much better weight restrictions than any of the wooden beds we looked at! Also, the frame is so thin that it keeps the room looking nice and spacious. Usually bunk beds make a big room look tiny. Not this one!
I'm 138lb, 5'5'', and I feel absolutely satisfied with this loft bed! We were three adults building this together, and it took us three happy hours to finish it! The instructions are so clear that you just can't do it wrong. The bed is sturdy, no squeaky sound or shaky. One thing it could improve on is to have an entrance for the bunk on the top, or I have to jump over the bar to get in my bed. Building tools are included in the package You have to buy futon/mattress separately Enjoy the bed!
Purchased for my 12 year old. Futon is a great spot to sit and play video games. The unit has a dorm room feeling to it. My 20 year old son put it together by himself without a problem. The box is VERY large and heavy. Great value for the price.
Came just as shown quite tall
My daughter loved it her and her dad built it together I was there the whole time and building it was difficult there are holes on the bars PAY ATTETION TO THE DIRECTION PICTURES WETHER THE HOLES ARE UP OR DOWN it was easy to make mistakes we has to take apart rebuild two or three times but in the end it was worth it all the parts were there none bent and the bed took 3 hours to build !! I recommend
I bought this bed for my 13 year old daughter and she loves it. She and I put the bed together and it was not all that hard. I hate the fact that the bottom shakes when she is at the top. I am not sure if all bunk beds do this but that would be my only complaint. Good product for the price.
When it arrived the box was sealed. So we assumed all parts were there. Put it together and the 2 top metal frames were missing. These make the top bunk. They are about 6 feet long, and there was nothing left in box. Called company, they said they would send them in 14-21 business days. I asked about rushed shipping, since this was not my fault. They said no, they just process orders it comes from China and would be impossible to get there any sooner. It's been weeks and it never arrived. So I'm stuck with a futon bunkbed that has no bunkbed on top. Bought for my daughters so they can have separate beds and still stuck with 1 bed. The company said no returns...
Overall disgusted with it order was changed missing bed no refund as of todays date so no I would give it no stars if I could
The bed frame came with the wrong part. It was missing the necessary part but had a part for a completely different bed.
Was very loud and not stable
