Doc Martin: Series 6 (DVD), Acorn, Comedy

Yes, it's still the same grumpy Doc Martin, who continues with his borderline Asperger's Syndrome personality. Verbally abusing his patients (but curing them just the same) and loving no one. No one that is except his sweet, sweet wife Louisa and their baby Henry. Of course the entire village of Portwenn is dysfunctional, so Doc Martin fits right in, in his own odd way.

I hope that they bring 7 and 8 Series too. I love it so much.. God bless

This entire series is, in my opinion, among the finest -- if not THE finest -- shows ever to appear on screen. Acting, production, casting, photography, writing, location, all aces. The cast of actors is absolutely stellar, even the animals and teenagers. The incredible mix of characters in the town run the gamut from sane to loopy, friendly to haughty, blue collar to expectation of privilege, and the portrayals are spot on for a small community where everyone knows everyone's business and brings a contagious affection across the entire production -- and throughout the community of joyously quirky people, even the curmudgeons in the mix. You'll laugh along with the humorous and the absurd, and cry at the occasional profound sadness as well as the astonishing moments of sheer joy and beauty. Though the story is centered around the brilliantly and maddeningly obtuse Doc Martin and his relationship with the rest of the town, but that is merely a bridge connecting the peripheral inter-related stories of all

It's great that Acorn keeps me informed when I buy DVDs on `PREorder`. That's important. They seem to know that I'm anxious to get my own copy of Martin Clunes as fabulous `Doc Martin` so they regularly update me about delivery. More importantly, they deliver on their estimates. I can DEPEND on what Acorn tells me... that's when I actually receive my orders... or EARLIER. Amazing. Every pkg, every disc is perfect. I am VERY pleased with Acorn, including their wonderful streaming library of hit and hard-to-find tv series at `Acorn online`.

Saving it until after Christmas but know it will be great. Wish the series would keep going. Got hooked watching on PBS, Atlanta, GA on Saturday nights. I identify with Doc in some ways and very much like the oddball humor, especially with the British flair that's icing on the cake. Didn't like the unwed-with-baby scenario and promiscuity among other cast members in roles. Maybe different views after seeing S6. I've enjoyed/still enjoy all the posts on the internet of Port Isaac/Portwenn, Cornwall, Port Gaverne, Port Quin, Doc Martin, etc., by those folks who have been there and those of Official website, fans, etc. I hope the place will achieve some return to normalcy after the crews have left permanently. We've got some of that going on in Georgia now but not in as conspicuous a setting as Port Isaac. Best wishes for all involved in the series and Thank You for the entertainment.

I love the show and the PBS station in Lubbock is far behind in every show and they will probably show season 6 in 2015, I couldn't wait that long to see the season 6. Absolutely love it. I didn't like how long it took to get here, regular mail usually takes 5-6 days, it took 8 days to get here. Not happy with your mailing process.

I have been a "Doc Martin" fan since the first episodes aired on PBS. Series 6 is the most recent. Even if you don't buy the whole set (Series 1-5, plus 2 movies), you will enjoy these Series 6 episodes featuring Martin Clunes as the totally rude, totally anti-social, but nevertheless brilliant Dr. Martin Allingham.

I have been watching the show on OETA PBS for a long time now. When I discovered you carried the series, I ordered it, LOVED watching his earlier movies and the contrast between those and the series caused me to love the series even more. The Doc Martin videos are fun to watch,and the behind the scenes footage make you feel like you could be living in the village where it was filmed. Very funny. Beautiful setting and well written.

Rushed to buy #6 because we had enjoyed the previous 5. This is a bit dark and sad. Seems that Doc Martin cannot accept Louisa & baby even though he is losing them. Thought I saw a tear, but no, he is still caught up in his phobias. Not lighthearted at all.
