Doc Martin: Series 9 (DVD), Acorn, Comedy

Doc Martin Season 9 is the best...I have all 9 seasons of Doc Martin and the Doc Martin movies that inspired the Doc Martin series...Would 100% recommend Doc Martin Season 9...As well as the entire series...

This is a romantic, dramatic, funny and touching series from England with some fine actors. The screenplay is terrific, the pacing is good, and each episode has two to three story lines weaving through the beautiful scenery of Northeastern Cornwall. The series is about a premier vascular surgeon in London who develops a phobia to the point he has to leave London to take a position as a General Practitioner in Portwenn (Port Isaac). Doc Martin had spent many childhood summer visits to his Aunt Joan, and they pick up where they left off many years ago. And there is a blooming romance between the Doc and a villager! The interplay of the villagers and the Doc are laugh-out-loud funny. They show the care Doc Martin has in spite of his horrible bedside manner. There are characters of all ages and means, making it a delightful show to enjoy for everyone. The stories are also interesting. Being in healthcare for nearly 40 years it is fun for me to figure out the diagnosis at hand along with Doc Martin. It's also refreshing to see such a fine production from our friends across the pond. The DVDs are well made and I've had no problems whatsoever with them. They arrived on schedule and in clean and new condition.

I love that walmart online had this series. I was able to get all the season's without difficulty. It was stocked and shipped quickly. So was able to binge watch during the weekend.o

I really like this tv show on PBS. I have all seasons and looking forward to season 10.

When I found myself between jobs, I discovered the Doc Martin series via my extended family and was greatly comforted by sharing a sense of community with all the rather odd, endearing personalities and behaviors replete in the series. Each episode reflects the highest competencies intermingled with the most unusual behavioral and physiological anomalies. The objectivity conveyed by the good doctor sharpens the contrast of the singular nature of each situation and brings it into an intuitively humorous relief, making the show hugely enjoyable, refreshing, reassuring, and ultimately even healing to take in and enjoy at the end of a long day.

I don't watch much TV,but have fallen in love with the Doc Martin series.I am up to Series 6 and have ordered 7,8 and 9.So much of the show brings home the difficulties of life and the joys too. I was truly hooked the 1st time Martin kissed Louisa,but the Large family is endearing also.All the people on Portwenn have brought me so much entertainment,I hope the series continues.

Great show, great writers, great cast. If you like Doc Martin you won't be disappointed by this season. There better be a Season 10.
