I had previously bought a different set somewhere else, and was unhappy with the dot colors, as they were hard to distinguish. This set has bright colors that are easy to discern at a glance. As noted, this set has all you need to play the game. Nothing fancy, but lots of fun to play.
I looked for this in several stores and online. I found it at walmart and at a great price. I recommend this product to all
I'm very happy with this set. The dominos seem to be made of the same material that those from the more expensive set are made of. They come in a little metal tin...nice for storage. The whole set is much more compact than the set that comes in the wooden box. The compromise for the price is in the "train station" which is a cheesy flat piece of plastic and the trains which are also plastic. But if those things bother you, buy replacements. I took off one star because of the train station and plastic trains, but at under $10, this is a great value.
Purchased a different set which had sloppy paint and nicks on the edge of a few pieces. I exchanged for this set which was less expensive but had no sloopy paint or nicks.
Wanted this game specifically for chicken feet. Was exactly what I needed for reasonable price. Picked up next day at store. Everything about this online purchase was very satisfactory. Pickup clerk friendly, immediatally found my order and out of store in a flash. . Thanks Walmart. Happy customer
As far as dominos go, no surprises here. I use them to make jewelry and for that purpose they are just fine. I can't comment how they are for playing. Gave it less than 5 stars because the metal box was all bent up.
I agree with some of the other reviews - it's okay for the price, but its by no means a perfect set. Mine also had knicks as well as a poor paint job. Some of the colors aren't even the same. For instance, some of the 3's are red, some are burgundy. My senior parents had a hard time distinguishing between the colors and kept putting the wrong one down. If you are on a budget, this set will do, but if you can, pay a little more and get a nicer set. I did like how this one came with the black middle piece as well as 4 trains though.
I know these weren't a very expensive set per se, but the tin came dented and many of the dominoes already had scuff marks (as if they were previously used). The dominoes have more of a matte than a glossy finish, and the colors are hard to distinguish too. Next time I would choose to buy a different domino set.
If you are willing to pay more, this set is not for you. The tin can lid comes off easily as you pick it up. The orange paint in the 'eight' dominoes were not evenly applied. The set comes with 4 plastic trains (as stated on the website and box), you would need to buy more trains separately.
After I bought this item and brought it home, we opened the packaging to play the game and it had a strong chemical smell to it! I'm not sure what was used to make these dominoes in China, but we were afraid to touch them. I returned the game to Walmart for a full refund.
