A must have at our house!
Everyone that uses fabric softener needs a “Downy ball”! It's clean and convenient. If your machine has its own fabric softener dispenser - STOP using it! Over time it can cause a buildup inside the dispenser and agitator shaft if you don't clean it regularly. The Downy ball is a must have!

To start, I was shopping thru Amazon at the time for a different item. When I remembered that I needed the downey ball, I found it on Amazon and it was offered between something like $12-$16. I was shocked and immediately ordered it from Walmart where it was something like $4.

Great gadget!
This softener ball is super easy to use; the instructions are very clear and conscience. This is especially handy for forgetful %26 very busy people as well as laundromats.

Old school: works for me!
Had one of these for years and don't know what happened to it. I live in a building with a laundry room on each floor instead of washing machines in each apartment, so this is much more convenient for me.

Works well
Washer at my current location does not have fabric softener dispenser. This works well and I no longer have to worry about listening for the rinse cycle to add fabric softener.

Great when washing clothes. just put in washer and no need to go back to washer to put clothes softener. This is a gift for a friend who liked the idea.

What is IT? Not sure I want to know.
I have used Downey balls before and really like them. They are very handy now that our new washers lock once they start. The problem that I have with this one is the condition it came to me in. There is brown STUFF all over the cardboard that is surrounding the top of the ball. Thank goodness it is plastic so All I have to do is wash it off.

The only thing about it I found was, the 1st several washes it doesnt open properly. I think it has to get used a few times before it opens up well in the wash.

broke
had to replace mine that I bought years ago and I didn't even get to use it. they've changed the material somehow. I went to pull it tight in the whole top come right off.

$4 piece of garbage
I couldn't even open it , I tried to pull the top bit up to get it out of the way and it popped off . The cheap plastic is weaker than the screw top imagine that
