because I work on concrete for hours standing on my feet, I would have back pain and knee pain and the heel of my foot would be aching at the end of my work day. But once I discovered these inserts, I no longer have the ache and pain. I will not work without them. I found the right inserts for me by using a Dr Scholl's foot machine that used to be at Walmart.
This is the 2nd time I've used these. The 1st time was about 15 years ago. As soon as I felt the first heel pain I knew what was wrong this time around. I bought a pair, removed my current insoles and replaced with these. Immediately, I had a 75% reduction in pain, same as the last time. I would suggest wearing them at ALL times, even in the house for at least 6 months. Even if the pain completely goes away. The 1st time for me took much longer because as soon as the pain went away I quit wearing them and it would come back. IMO, they're worth every penny because it eliminates a doctor visit, a specialist visit with possible custom inserts.
I had a knee injury several years ago. Later, when I was on a four day backpacking trip, my knee became so sore that I thought I wouldn't be hiking anymore. It took several months before the pain went away. I got a pair of these Dr. Scholl's and started doing local hikes again without any pain. This was three years ago. Since then I've gone on three four-day backpacking trips wearing those inserts and had no knee pain whatsoever. I've considered them my second best purchase ever, after Lasik surgery. I just bought my second pair after wearing the first ones daily for about three years. Highly recommend, but use the footmapping machine a few times to make sure you're buying the right pair.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing product, it helps reduces my heel bone spur from flaring up and minimize my back pain. I own 4 pairs of Dr. Sholl 410.
Good insoles for heavy set people working on their feet for hours at a time. Cleared up my heel pain almost instantly (Had to break them in.)
Needed new inserts. Not sure in how long you should wear t he em before replacing. But they do offer the much needed support that I need for my very flat feet.
I finally received my Dr. Schools shoe inserts, after 2 days of waiting for my delivery. I can feel the difference in my foot comfort and so far so good, foot and pain relief.
The arch support is good however had a hard time getting them comfortable in my workout shoes - I pulled up the old inserts but it was uncomfortable but I could not leave them I. Either so I had to cut the old ones and marry them to the new ones…but there is a noticeable ridge.
I'm being generous in giving these orthotics a three-star rating because I do stand on my feet for a VERY long time. I've tried several inserts to aid in the relief of my feet and back after a long shift at work and finally got the nerve to try the kiosk to see what my custom fit was. I was excited to try these orthotic inserts because, like I said, I am on my feet all day as a worker in retail and I have pretty flat feet so sometimes I can barely move by the time I get home. The first day I wore these inserts, I had to buy a thicker pair of socks because they felt like they were rubbing the bottom of my feet where my arches should be the wrong way. It helped some so I figured I would give them more time because maybe inserts have to be broken in like shoes? Well, as of two days ago, I don't think I can stand to wear them any longer. When I took off my shoes, it felt like I had blisters forming on the bottoms of my feet and the pain from putting pressure on them did not go away for two days. I'm just grateful I was off from work the next two days because I don't think I would have been able to stand it. Maybe this work for 8 or 9 hour shifts and maybe they work for slimmer people because they've gotten a lot of reviews, but for an overweight person who stands on their feet 12 or more hours at a time? It was a no-go for me.
Your body's natural mechanics do not need any of these cushioning. It felt good for the first 20 min, but later through out the day, my feet started hurting. At the end of the day, my back was aching. Not recommended for me, but possibly others. To each their own, but definitely not me. I used the machine they provided in store to measure and provide the exact solution as well.
