Christmas gift for my daughter, who loves all DQ games. So far she's loving it!
The price was fine; it was basically at MSRP. I had been holding off purchasing the game anticipating a price drop, but it just didn't work out that way. (Personally disappointed there, but not a Walmart issue on price. Ultimately, I was just happy to find the product in stock somewhere and was okay paying original MSRP, even though games typically go down in price over Tiger.)
This is a game from a series in production the years before Pokémon came out and this one in particular is only a 5th game released in the countries that are not Japan. This game doesn't have Pokémon types but moves are obtained by skills points and resistances and stats are gained by Synthesis (aka Dragon Ball Z Fusion). If you also played or haven't played DragonnQuest IV, this is an Alternate Reality to that game so no need to have knowledge to the past games. Also. The DLC seems like it is a Great QOL Purchase (And you're absolutely right) but you don't need to buy that to play the game. The game has everything available to you and any option of monster can be made with the right fusion chain. Graphics are like a 3DS with some hiccups for players but the game is worth plaything through cause it is worth the money. However, if you're competitive in Pokémon, try this game's competitive side, you will be pushed to your limits with the OG Monster Wranglers in this game. And if you're casual, there are over 500 monsters to fuse and have in your monster pen and still have room for more monsters for you to try Team combos with. One of the monsters was a cyclops so I have a team to beat it in the game's demo on the eShop. It also has Tactics and Instructions (that I circled in the image) that if you play, will help with auto battling and arenas where you cannot give commands at all. Please try the game. I love it and been playing this series since Joker and Joker 2 in the Westerm hemisphere and needs more awareness with how different it is to Pokémon and reviews calling this a mock of Pokémon are a lie.
arrived in a timely manner
Good game would recommend to people that like RPG games.
Game was great reminded me a lot about pokemon.
My order was exactly what my son wanted for Christmas! To maintain the surprise, especially since it arrived so promptly, I had to disguise it by placing it inside a box of Hostess blueberry mini muffins!
I was 50/50 on buying this game but it's so hard to find at regular price and I got an email from Walmart of it being for 40 bucks! I couldn't pass up the offer. I have no idea how Walmart knew I wanted this game but it was meant to be.
Product has not yet arrived, which is the primary problem. When I ordered, the website said item would be here on December 1st, which is when I wanted it. Item did not arrive on December 1st and is now estimated to arrive on December 4th.
Purchased it before launch but the preorder bonus never came or was never sent through email. Contacted the support but sadly got bounced around as the support told me someone would contact me in 48 hours, which I never received the call. Very unsatisfied and would never preorder from Walmart again.
