Great tool, good value. Husband is a retired General Contract so his has the commercial grade Dremel. I am fighting him so this does not migrate to the shop. Using this for Labrador's nails, super dense like trimming horse hooves. Vet charges $38.00 for Dremeling nails, so pays for it's self in 2 trims. Had the battery pet version died in a year. The low speed of this would be fine for smaller dogs. Highly recommend. Not a loud sounding tool.

My 1970's variable speed model 380 stopped being "variable". Parts are no longer available for the 380, so it was replaced with model 3000 which is also variable speed. I received it about a week ago and have used it some. I am vary pleased with it's performance.

Super fast shipping! Very well packaged! This Dremel 3000 is really great! Lightweight, speedy, quiet and real fun to use and it really is so versatile and it came with a bunch of very useful bits/attachments! The 3000 is way better than my old cordless model that I cant buy a replacement rechargeable battery for anymore and that cordless never came with any guide attachments or saw attachments, I had to buy those separately, but the 3000 came with EVERYTHING and I can work all day without having to wait for batteries to recharge, which is why I purchased a corded model this time around and I couldn't be happier. My only negative is that my cordless has a small front to rear facing slider that was easy to use with your thumb to adjust the speed as you work and it was separate from the on/off switch, which makes it so easy to get just the right speed you need or want as you go, but with the 3000, you have only have about 6 speeds to select from on the same right to left facing switch from off to max, which makes you have to stop working, adjust speeds, begin again, stop, adjust, start, etc.. But, In the two days I've had this model, I've already used it to sand down the bottom of a couple doors that rubbed and annoyed me in under 1 minute that the cordless couldn't handle, I polished a brass chandelier last night and cleaned a burr off the shaft on the impeller for my Aquarium filter this morning, now it doesn't make the grinding noise it had been making for about a month, and I've also started doing some fine engraving into a wood sign I'm crafting for the bar in my man-cave. This is one of the best possessions I own! The things you can do with this tool are endless. The accessories that came with my kit, along with the ones I've picked up, have taken the place of multiple, bulky other hand tools. There's not too much that I can't do with my my new Dremel! My one and only regret is that I didn't buy one sooner!

Bought online $69.48 went to store a week later could have bought it for $57.97 . I thought prices online were suppose to be the same.

While the Toolkit is awesome and exactly as described, on the Shipping Label Jet omitted that I'm a commercial customer and that delayed delivery by 4 days and a surcharge of 10.25

it will go up and down in speed during use.

The tool is light and ergonomically perfect for use as a small router to outline intricate patterns that I then carve in low relief with chisels and gouges. The 566 depth gauge and stand works well but I expect it may become unstable with use as the metal retention screw degrades the palstic collet. I like the variable speed option but the adjustment slide button is tool small.

When I bought my new house I borrowed my Dad's old Dremel 200. Lo and behold he needed it back so I was in the market to buy a 200 for myself. I stumbled upon the Model 3000 at Lowe's for the same price and had to make the upgrade. The 3000's built in wrench plus other accessories like the shield are extremely handy! The only drawback to the 3000 is the diameter of the tool around the head is broader so it is not as ergonomic as the older Dremel 200 but the 10 speeds certainly makes up for it!

Stopped working after less than 10 uses. Bought and stored for a few years, finally opened it and got to use just a few times. Put it away after sharpening, then next week when I plugged it in...it would not turn on. My little one still works but not enough power or speed for bigger projects.
