Dremel 670-01 Mini Saw Power Rotary Tool Attachment Quick-Connect Attach System with Safety Guard

This attachment by Dremel is an a outstanding way to quickly cut panels and anything else under 1/4 inches. makes for no false start's, and very straight lines.

Having an ability to cut small pieces without the need for a large saw is a great time saver. Using the 670 Mini Saw Attachment saved the day. With only a few minutes of practice, I was soon ready to cut small strips from 1/16" laminate to make a roadway bed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Handy attachment, the guard works great for not allowing the cutting head to get buried in the material. Attaches to the Dremel and removes easily to change back and forth. The transparent guard is nice so you can see what your cutting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dremel 670 mini saw attachment is a wonderful addition to my Dremel tools and accessories. I was making bird houses for my granddaughters and decided that this would be the perfect project for trying out my new tool. I can also see myself making doll houses or using it for things like cutting wood flooring. The Dremel 670 is perfect for smaller projects with thinner stock. The Dremel 670 cuts straight and smooth with no issues. It attached and worked as promised on my Dremel rotary tool. The neck of the attachment is slightly angled, which I found help me line up the cut and control the rotary tool. Really an innovative tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw was easy to use for my small projects. The saw, quickly attached to my Dremel 300 and quickly cut through the 1/4" popular plank for a tatting shuttle. The guide made it easy to stay on the line for an accurate cut. The plastic shroud kept the saw, flush with the wood. Making, a perfect perpendicular cut. The plastic shroud is a great safety feature. I was able to focus on my project, than worry about unprotected blade cutting me.

Its ok...The mandrel and gold colored wood saw blade work much better. This saw attachment would be fine for ripping thin strips of wood but it bogs down easily and sounds like its cheaply built.

Only issue I had was the instructions. No where did it say what was included so I spent way too much time trying to find the screw and adapter only to find them in another package with more instructions. Using the arrow on the edge of the gaurd was pretty accurate.

I had no problem removing the original chuck and adding the mini-saw chuck. It has worked perfectly for over a year. However...I want to go back to using the standard attachments and now I can't figure out how to REMOVE this item. Have looked for videos online and fear I'll just have to reverse-engineer the original installation if you can't help.

I used this a couple times on small projects for thin wood and it worked fine. Then, I used it today to cut through a thicker piece of wood covered in vinyl flooring. The wood and vinyl combined were the exact max depth of the blade, so I expected it would have to work hard to get through it. On and off it would smoke from heat so I'd let it cool off and startup again. Then, the motor just died. Total use before it killed the motor was about 5 minutes. Clearly the blade was too large for my dremmel to handle. Like using the engine of a small sedan inside a tractor trailer. My dremmel is a corded variable speed 75th aniversary edition dremel, not sure which model number.

I bought this to use with my dremel 400 xpr. I went with the dremel brand to ensure safety and compatibility with the dremel tool. According to the full compatibility chart, there should have been no problem. I attached it easily, but after less than a minute of the warm up /breaking in period before first use as per the manual, it completely burned out the motor on my dremel that had worked perfectly for years! This had great reviews, but upon further investigation, it looks like I'm not the only one this has happened to. Now, not only am I out the money spent on the mini saw, but I'm out a dremel as well!
