I've never been able to use traditional thimbles as they slide off too easily, never fit my fingers, and are just uncomfortable in general. Dritz Ergonomic Soft Comfort Medium Thimble is amazing! First of all, it fits. I've had no problems with it slipping or sliding off AND it's vented so it allows your skin to "breathe" and not drown in sweat. The plastic business end works well to protect my finger from the sewing needle. I'm in the process of doing a lot of hand-sewing, so this thimble is getting a workout! I will buy again.
This turned out to be a bit too small to use on my finger, but I bought the large one which fits well so I am going to review this the same. I am a woman with a bit larger than average hands, and wear a 7..5-8 glove. I really do not sew only repair hem, buttons, etc. but I find a metal thimble extremely uncomfortable. They are not shaped like a fingertip and particularly if you have some arthritis in your distal joints, they just don't work well. This sits much more comfortably on the finger and I'm able to push the needle through without hurting my finger.
I purchased the medium and it fit fine. This is my first time using one of these and it helps my quilting
my grandma says they're just what she needed. She just turned 96yrs old so she's done lots of sewing......she knows whats what!
I was so surprised at the fit and the slanted end makes pushing needles through heavy fabric so much easier.
This was purchased to protect a sore finger that has a (completely healed) surgical pin. It works great, and provides much more finger mobility than anything we can find. No more colorful language from bumping the end of the finger!
This thimble stays on your finger much better than the metal ones and makes it easier to hold a needle. I bought it try out before I got one for my granddaughters since they have shown in interest in sewing lately.
The thimble fits well on my finger.
I gave it a low review because the thimble was very rigid, not flexible and was not suitable for what I needed.
It does not stay on because it appears to not be deep enough. I've tried several different fingers, and it still doesn't work. Would never recommend this item.
