Kind of expensive, but this is the one I needed because of the width of the tub. Also, the height is Good. It's higher than some of the other less expensive ones so yes, I recommend it.
I got this a few days ago. it's packaged well, with easy instructions. I installed it on my fiberglass tub in just a few minutes and I'm thrilled. it's exactly what I needed to feel more secure getting in and out of the tub, after slipping and cracking a rib recently. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a bit of help and security.
Glad I got this stabilizing rail as a precaution. Now I take baths more often! Do not put-off getting one if you are a bit off balance. It is an aide when getting out of the tub as well, to brace. It does it's job well, but do not expect it will pull up a 250 pound person. It is just plastic and screws. My bathtub is low, and I wonder about the waterline covering the point of contact. Make sure to wash away scum when screwing closed on your tub.
We feel a lot safer getting out of the tub. This seem to work better for us than the suction kind that stick on.
It is sturdy, handy, and easy to install. I'm very pleased with it.
If you need a sturdy, heavy-duty, easy-to-grip, adjustable Bathtub Grab Rail to fit on the side of a fiberglass tub, please consider this one from Drive. This is actually the second one I've purchased - I bought the first 12 years ago, and it is still going strong. The new one is more or less identical - no decline in quality. My loved one's mobility has declined to the point she feels safer using two grab rails to get in and out of the tub. I like that the grab rail grips are a textured plastic - nicely non-slip. Although the clamp requires strong hands to tighten and lock in place, once it's installed, it's not going anywhere. The rubber pads ensure that!
It does the job
Big help for my 74 year old wife getting in and out of our tub safely. Falls are a big hazard, and this grab rail is just the right height. Note: This works well on a procelein tub, which has solid side. A fiberglass tub may be a problem. The handle has small raised bumps that greatly improve grip.
It has a modern look. Not like others which look like horseshoe pipes.
Really sturdy and easy to put up. Works wonders for my 90 year old mother.
