Broke my foot and my doctor suggested I get a knee scooter for getting around the house. Since my insurance didn't cover rental, I decided to purchase my scooter. I picked out this scooter online due to good reviews, basket and basic function. I was concerned about needing to spend more money for a more expensive scooter to get the best, but took my chances ordering this model. My concerns were unfounded as this less expensive scooter is great! Basket is super handy and my scooter arrived ahead of shipping schedule the day before Christmas Eve! It turned out to be the best present I could get!
After considering renting a knee scooter during my tendon recovery I determined it was cheaper in the long run to actually purchase one. This seemed to be a good deal and I wasn't expecting the level of quality this product contains. Excellent construction and easy to maneuver. The wheels are well made and roll nicely. The steering has stops to prevent turning too far and possibly tipping over - a good safety feature. The "seat" is split in two which is very nice for accommodating he transition from cast to leg. Even better it rotates so you can park along side a sink or table and rotate 90 degrees to face the surface. The brake includes a parking feature to hold the unit still for working or transitioning. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of needing one of these you can't go wrong with this product.
I had a foot surgery that requires me staying off my right foot for 2 weeks. I had ergonomic crutches, but wanted to use that time to get stuff done around the house, so I wanted something that would give me more ability to move around an multitask (carry things around the apartment, reach for things easily). This totally does the trick. I feel so much more confident moving around on this than on the crutches (which I've only used once so far when I went out and stumbled a couple of times). I don't think I would have bought it had it been full price at the time, since it's only for two weeks, but I would recommend it at any price if you have a longer time that you need to be off one foot. My one complaint is that the pads dig into my shins a bit. They tout the two-part pad in their marketing materials, but I think it was a mistake to separate into two because it's the internal edges of each pad that really dig in and hurt from frequent us. I've been using my son's toddler pillow to pad it, but it's not an ideal solution. Some good firm foam would have been good had I known.
One reviewer stated that this is a game changer. I agree 100%! The turning radius isn't great, but if it were anymore, I think it would be easy to tip over. It's a bit rough going over higher thresholds, but overall, this thing is fantastic. Even with the cons, this thing is SO much better than crutches.
I recently had foot surgery and purchased the scooter on-line from Walmart. The scooter was delivered to my home a few days later. Small assembly was required, but super easy. I use the scooter to get around the house and at work. Love the ease of getting around and not having to deal with crutches!!!
We purchased this walker for $129.99 and it was well worth the money. My wife had foot surgery and is unable to put any weight on her left foot for at least 2 weeks if not longer. This in my opinion is a much safer way to get around verses crutches. It is well built and finished well for the price.
My daughter is 8 and she broke her ankle. Her first day back at school on crutches she got knocked down, so we thought this would be more comfortable and safe. It was!!!! The only thing we find that she doesn't like is it doesn't turn too well. You have to make Wide turns and when you have to use an elevater at school it's pretty difficult. Other than that this has made our lives a little easier.
The knee walker came before it was supposed to. That was a big plus. It was easy to put the seat on and adjust it and the handle to my height. I'm 5'7. I only gave 4 stars because I haven't used it yet and Walmart has sent me an email everyday since I received it to right a review. I'm having tarsal tunnel surgery on both my ankles back to back. I was suggested this buy my surgeon. The seat says it hold 350 pounds. I live in Ohio, so I am a little concerned about the wheels and how well they will deal with ice and snow. There is no traction what so ever. They are smooth and shiney. The basket is a nice touch because I won't have to worry about carrying a bag and it detaches. I have used the scooter inside to "test it" (a.ka. play on it) and the brakes work well on carpet and tile, but again it has not been used out side yet. I'm doing this to get Walmart to spot sending me an email everyday.
Having to stay off my broken leg for at least 4 to 6 weeks, this walking aid makes getting around easier than using a walker. It is, however, not too easy to maneuver in a small house, especially a small bathroom. All in all though, I'm glad to have it.
Ordered online, then, with one last try, was able to fix a knee scooter (different brand) that I already owned. I immediately tried to cancel the Walmart online order as the item hadn't be processed, loaded or shipped yet. They wouldn't allow me to cancel the order. I do not forgive Walmart for the cost and inconvenience caused me.
