I have only used it for a few days, but so far so good. It makes a few concerning noises, but nothing to really get bothered about as long as it lasts. My last portable AC, a different brand, only lasted about three weeks. So the bar is not that high! What I like most about it is that it is more compact, kinda cute. Installation was easy, the manual is simple, what more could one ask for....except longevity, of course. We shall see. I have HOPE.
I bought this for 2 reasons - Price and shape 1- 8000btu’s for $199.00 was a good deal 2- It was relatively square so making a base to put in the rear of my suv was easy I started camping this summer in my the back of black Ford Excursion - during a very hot summer The unit cooled my truck down very nicely and surprisingly was pretty quiet specially in the small confines of a closed vehicle. I made a wood base that kept the unit stable and secure, a vent panel for the exhaust to go out my window, also incorporating a power connection I wish I could tell you how it worked in a large room but all I know is it took the interior temp of my truck from 110 degrees down to the upper 60’s
Easy set up and cools more than I expected %26 doesn’t take up too much space
I extra love the compact size, (small and cute) because my bed room isn't very big but it is crowded and the AC fits in the perfect corner by window. I like that it has a remote. Very easy to install in window. And it gets my room very cold. A bit noisy, but I'm from NYC and used to much more noise than that. As a matter of fact I use it as white noise to help me sleep. I would definitely recommend this AC. ❤️
This worked pretty well for me in the recent heat wave. I wish it were a little smaller, and the hose out the back wasn't so big and hard to maneuver. It ended up taking up more space than I hoped in my cramped little office and it's also noisier than I had hoped. A window AC might have been a better choice.
It's not actually 8,000 BTU as it says. It's 5100 BTUs. And it barely keeps the space cool. That is very deceptive! I have really have no choice but to keep it or swelter. I don't have the time or money to wait on an actual 8000 BTU unit. Hoping the weather cools off.
The item arrived damaged. It was obvious that a forklift fork penetrated the box and into the front of the unit. I ordered this unit online. The only solution Walmart would provide is for me to return the item to a physical store. I then contacted the manufacturer, they told me they would send me a free unit but then changed their mind and said the only option would be to return to a Walmart store. Very unhappy with both Walmart and the manufacturer for not standing behind their products. The shame is that the product actually works well, it's just damaged aesthetically. Burned that I needed to pay full price for a damaged product.
Item was damaged when arrived, returned to Walmart and was told I couldn't get a refund since it was through a 3rd party so the 3rd party needs to receive the item before I can get my money back it's been about a week and still have yet to see a refund. Very unimpressed with my first online purchase from Walmart.
Compressor will not stay engaged long enough to cool the room down trying to cool down an average size bedroom. It is over 100° with the heat index today and my room is still about 90° in my bedroom size is 12 x 15
This item is cheap. I tried to put it together it keeps falling out the window and the plastic was torn already when I took it out of box
