DuroMax 3850W Propane/Gasoline Electric Start Power Generator, Low Oil Shutdown

This generator was purchased because of the ability to run on propane. It is performing beyond expectations as the power loss due to propane is almost not noticeable. Propane is much cleaner and easier to transport. Don't have to worry about long term storage as with gasoline. Unless an emergency arises it will never have gasoline in it.

Bought this and came threw in fine shape. Mainly for camper use to power up all. But great to have for backup for pellet stove heat , if needed. Will run a tank of gas threw it before , use mainly on propane. Quite compared to other the Same size. Loading was tricky , till I I decided on help. I put this generator together put oil in it hooked it up to a propane tank hit the start it cranked about twice and fired right up! It is verry impressive how quite it is and how smooth It Run's! I am verry happy with the purchase of this Generator!!

We purchased an XP4850EH on August 31,2019.....Prior to Hurricane season. Three Hurricanes later it still starts and runs perfectly. What more could you ask for ? After almost 7 years we did have to replace the battery and your parts dept. shipped it out immediately. Why buy anything else.....Continued success to your company.

I was looking for a generator for my cabin and this Duramax XP 4850eh has turned out to be more than expected the company made it very easy right out of the box to set it up and having have it working within less than a half hour !! I will definitely be purchasing another Duramax in the future what a great company thank you so much 👍👍👍

Delivered to the store as scheduled. Simple assembly of wheels and handles. Construction seems solid enough. Added oil, gas, connected the battery, and it fired right up. Quieter than I expected. I have only run it a couple of times and have not heavily loaded it yet. The only thing I don't like so far is the slow speed you have to add gas to the tank to keep it from spilling out.

I bought this propane fueled generator as a backup battery charger for my solar powered off-grid house. When cold,: turn on the bottle and give the propane carburetor/regulator a quick tickle and it fires right up. When warm... it fires a couple times and dies. It takes some half choke, no choke, tickle cranking to finally get it to fire back up. Doable, but not automatable. Also, the propane carburetor is not a positive fuel shutoff. You have to turn off the bottle when you are done or it will leak down in a few days. A high pressure shutoff solenoid will fix the problem, but just another bug in the ointment. For the money it is a good alternative. it will just take some modification to make it work for my needs.

It's not the quietest thing ever. But, it works great. Camping on a hot night. Air on, lights on, microwave on. No problem. I plan on building a shed for it, so the noise won't be a worry.

I'm nearly 80, I'm disabled, and low-income. Purchase this generator: May,2020. Took out of box, started it, used gas, then used propane fuel. It ran fine, also checked with power meter. When the fires/smoke began in CA, and the power went out, I desperately needed the generator. I have life threatening respiratory issues, and needed air purifier, air condition (small portable) and refrigeratorto keep medication cold, but this generator wouldn't power a table lamp. When I tried to return this defective generator, in order to get another generator quickly, I was told "too bad, nothing we can do, you missed the return date by a week, but since it's still under warranty, they would be happy to send you what we THINK needs to be repaired, but, OH, DEAR, those parts are out of stock until Nov., of course, you won't need a generator in Nov. so TOO BAD FOR YOU, the important thing is ... WE HAVE YOUR MONEY". I paid for this generator, and a defective machine was delivered. I get to wait months for parts, and, of course, I will have to pay additional to have someone install the repair parts.
