I was trying to find a replace for an earlier model DYMO, came across the 160 at a really good price and was very happy with the product upon receipt.
it works wonderfully well and is exactly what I need. I did order a plug in charger as it does take 6 AAA batteries and the charger came and works great. Nice printing and nice readable labels
This is a very inexpensive and very useful tool to have. It is easy to use, and helps me keep my office files organized, without anyone needing to read my handwriting.
This is a great label maker. I use it to make labels for all my power adapters to keep them organized. When you purchase this, I recommend you buy an AC adapter as it uses 6 AAA batteries and this will save you having to replace them often especially if it is used regularly.
As other reviews say, there is no very complex instructions. There is a 5 step process in a picture. But, that is how you use it. Turn on, type, choose some options, and print. Click the lever on the side and it cuts off. The adhesive does not seem sticky, but I have been sticking to pipes and electrical boxes with no problem. If it jams, then the cartridge you pop in does not have the tape fed below the two fingers. Prints are clear, and many options for font, symbols and clip art.
This is a simple, easy and precise labeler. This is replacing a Dymo 1000 that was getting hard to find tape other the black on white. This is one of the easiest to use and since the QWERTY keyboard was added, it makes things simple. Hint: pull a little tape out of the cartridge prior to loading and you should not have any tape jamming issues.
Always wanted one, and was stoked it was a Black Friday doorbuster this year! Couldn't find it on the first night, so went back in the am, and voila they had 2 left. No directions, so at first was a learning curve. Tip: You have to press the print button the entire time its printing. If you just press and let go it will mess up/jam. I figured that out pretty quick though. Love it. Cant wait to go label useless stuff even though I know where everything goes in my house lol =)
This is a neat, simple label maker. Considering its price when on sale at various retailers, it is an excellent value. They have jammed a good amount of options into this label maker while keeping use fairly intuitive. The link to the instruction manual should have been noted in or on the box: http://download.dymo.com/dymo/user-guides/LabelManager/LM160/LM160_UserGuide_en-US.pdf . The manual shows how to get as much as you want out of the label maker. For those who have found the cost of new tapes expensive, don't buy them from the office supply chains. The biggest online retailer sells them for about 50% less. I love that the tapes are made in Belgium.
I bought this in December 2018. While it worked, it performed great. The labels are clear and crisp and adhere beautifully. I took great care of this label maker, keeping it protected in the box while not in use, and removing the batteries if I knew I wasn't going to be using it for a while, as recommended. I went to use it in the summer of 2020, putting the batteries back in. It wouldn't power on, so I bought new batteries. It still wouldn't power on after adding another set of new batteries. I hadn't even gone through one tape cassette yet and it's useless now, sad to say.
Don't work right out of the box. Had to go to box office store and buy one as it was needed right then. Very bad experience.
