I purchased about 30 bags of this stuff last fall when it was on sale, so I didn't pay the regular price, I believe I got it for about a buck a bag. My intent was to use it this spring to amend the soil in my garden. I live in the Helena valley of the Rocky Mountains and the soil in this area is very poor. I opened a bag to use as starter soil for seed trays, and I expected some wood chips as it is composted steer manure, and that would be acceptable. However, what was not acceptable to me was the amount of trash I found, bits of plastic bags, small chunks of PVC, and stuff that appeared to be paper label type materiel. Also, I screened out at least a pound of rocks, and bits of wood, i.e. bark and sticks too big to be considered useful. It is obvious to me that quality control for this product is non-existent, and I would expect better from a product that Scotts puts their name on. So unless you have terrible soil, are willing to screen this product before use, and get it at a really good price, just buy something better. You get what you pay for.

Way overpriced! Didn't look closely at the description and paid way more for only 1 cu ft of manure.

These sell for 1.98 a bag a Home Depot. The use to sell for 1.98 a bag at Walmart as well I don't know how the price just jumped 15x in less than a full year. Buyers beware you can get this manure for 1/15th the price.
