Love these toys! The children love them! They are a lot of fun and challenging at the same time that they are a lot of fun for them My grands aged 3-7 love them and so do I and their parents because they are also very educational and help with skills!
I brought several for future gifts and as a keepsake!
My son loved the Design and Drill Race Car. The packaging was easy to open, and the pieces are bright, colorful and well made. The pieces place together well and directions are easy to follow. The drill is easy for my 4-year-old son to operate, screwing bolts in and out. This was a fun, easy project toy. My son took it to his Grandparents house and they all enjoyed playing with it.
What an awesome toy for kids! First, they get to build their own race car. That is cool enough. But then to make it even better they get to use their very own (safe) power tools! I worried that it would be complicated, but it's a snap (literally). The pieces snap together and even our 3 year old can do this on his own. Definitely recommend this!
This toy not only is building an awesome race-car, but it's also building confidence. As least that's what I see when i watch my son and daughter working together to complete it. We love the Design and Drill series, but the fact that you can actually zoom your car around when you're done makes this even more fun. We also have the helicopter and I love to see the kids working side by side and helping each other out. A great gross motor and life skills toy to show them they can build things! I received this toy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
Jax absolutely loves the Design & Drill set we got for his big sister Paige. He plays with it all the time so I knew he'd be absolutely thrilled to get the newest design and drill Race Car Set. This one is very similar to the other set but even better. First of all, it's a race car so of course Jax loves that! The best part of this set though is that it comes with an actual working drill! It takes three AAA batteries and then it's ready to go! When you hear the word drill you probably envision a dangerous power tool but never fear, this ones made just for the little ones! The button is easy to push and then it spins and whirls just like a real drill, only safer! The age recommendation for this is 3 - 5. Jax is just about 2 1/2 and doesn't quite have the dexterity to work the drill by himself. However, if we place things for him and help get it attached, he can do it. Age 3 is probably the perfect age to be able to begin using this on their own. Jax likes just taking it apart and having us help put it back together! While he can't quite build it yet, he definitely gets the concept and his little brain is still working away to figure out where the parts go, kind of like a puzzle. It definitely encourages him to work on those motor skills as well because he really wants to be able to do it all on his own! The set comes with all parts needed to build a complete race car with moving parts, right down to the detailed stickers to complete the look. Jax is absolutely thrilled to have his own design & drill set and his older brother and sister have definitely taken notice! At 6 and 8 the appeal isn't lost on them! I know they'll all be excited to try the monster truck version we're going to work on next!
My 3.5 year old son loved this toy. Once I showed him how to operate the drill, he was able to put the car together on his own and was so proud of himself when he finished. This toy kept him occupied for 35 minutes. He has since taken the car apart and put it back together multiple times. I would highly recommend this toy as I haven't seen anything else like it.
I think we own almost this whole collection now. It is hard to find a better toy, in my opinion. They are learning. They are engaged with the toy. The parts are interchangeable. It is quiet too! Love this!
This car was a lot of fun for my 5 year old son to put together. As soon as he saw the box he kept begging for a chance to start constructing it! With this car my son was placing stickers for the outer design, snapping wheels on, and using the drill to add the bolts to finish. He never got upset or frustrated while putting it all together. He liked that when he was done he could roll it around on the floor for play. He was quite proud to have put it together all on his own. The pieces are well-constructed and the drill is just like the real thing except in a kid-friendly format. You will need to have triple A batteries on hand as they are not included. I can't think of any cons to this set. But what could have made this set even more fun would have been if children could color the stickers they place on the car and if the bolts came in a variety of colors for more customization. This set was fun activity for my son to do on a hot day during the Summer time but would make a great set for a rainy day too. What's nice is that even after it's all put together, your child has a fun race car toy to use for imaginative play. * I have received this product for free or at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest and unbiased product review; all opinions are my own.*
My son received as a gift and loves this "race car" and big boy tool. Unfortunately after a short time, the motor on the drill completely stopped working. It's not the batteries as we changed them multiple times. Now we no longer have the box cannot send back. Very disappointing.
