4M 3D Glow-in-the-Dark Solar System Model Making Science Kit, Stem

My 7 year old homeschooled granddaughter absolutely loved this. They used it to expand on her solar system education. Her Mom was impressed with the quality.

My 8 year old is very into planets. He was very excited to build this model. He worked with my husband and did need some support, but was able to do most of the building and painting himself. The directions are very straight forward and easy to follow. We wished there were two paint brushes included since there were two paint sets, but that wasn't a big deal. My husband did use his own fishing line as the line included was a bit stiff. The end product looks great and my son is very proud of his model.

The instructions are easy to follow. This is a great learning tool. It also comes with a chart full of great facts. My son had fun coloring all the planets and helping assemble. It includes glow on the dark paint which he loves and it's fun to look at night.

This model solar system kit was out-of-this-world! It has everything needed to paint, assemble and hang your very own mini solar system. It is a lot of work and a little time-consuming for younger kids so I would definitely recommend it for 10 and older. My eight-year-old absolutely loved it, but just had to work carefully for a longer. Of time to really make each planet look like it should.

This is such a cool project for kids to do. My kids were all able to participate in putting this solar system together. They loved painting it and adding the glow paint. They were excited to finish it and get hung in their bedroom. My kids were introduced into astronomy at an early age that they love everything about it. They are fascinated to learn more about our solar system and this project does just that. They also loved the poster that they have now hung on the wall. It is very informative and has a beautiful picture of the planets. It must have taken about an hour and a half to finish the whole thing since you have to let the paint dry before putting it all together. Overall, it was a fun project to do. It kept my kids busy and away from their electronic devices and/or TV for a good while.

My nephew is a huge solar system fan. He is 6. He pretty much knows everything about every planet. I was afraid this kit would be too simple for him, but it was perfect. The plastic planets snap together easily. The paints were basic and I had an extra paint brush so we were able to do this together, since it only came with one brush. The glow in the dark paint was easy to apply. Once the paint dried, we put the whole thing together. It was so neat to watch him beam with pride as he talked about each planet. The whole solar system is only about 30 inches wide, so it's not overwhelmingly large. We hung it up and turned off the lights and boom... it glowed! Super cool project. It also came with a poster with some interesting facts about the planets.

This was a very fun project to do with my 13-year-old son. We were able to learn and Banda gather over about three hours of completing the task of assembling it. It will make a very nice addition hanging from the ceiling in the bedroom and we were To learn some good information from it. The glow in the dark paint was not quite as bright as I expected, But it's still a nice project and had a lot of fun doing it.

My husband started this project and then my daughter joined in to help out. They are currently still in the painting stage in which my daughter has fewer patients than my husband. It seems to be a really cool and educational project. Looking forward to the completed solar system.

This sets comes with everything needed to make a neat glow in the dark solar system. However, it takes a long process to put this set together. First the fun part, painting and decorating your planets and sun. This part was fun for my daughter and she enjoyed the creativity of it. The paint dried fairly fast so we were able to begin to work on putting this set together. That is where it became frustrating. The pieces are hard to get to line up perfectly and click together. If we got a planet clicked together in the wrong way it was very difficult to get it back apart. There is little plastic pieces that you thread the nylon thread through and knot it. Those plastic pieces then get snapped inside of your planet so it can be hung. Once we got all the planets clicked together the next challenge was to thread the thread onto the small plastic hooks. This accomplished you then hook the hooks onto the poles. This part really needs 2 adults as it takes some time and patience to get all of your planets at the proper spacing to make this whole solar system balance and not lean and tip. The last difficult step that we had a hard time with was threading the sun through the middle and having the thread come through the top to hang the whole solar system from. It was definitely a lesson in patience. This is a must need an adult to help project. Once completed and balanced we were very happy to finally get to hang the solar system up. We hung it from the bottom of my daughters light in her bedroom. This way when the light is on it 'charges' up the glow in the dark paint so that her solar system will glow for awhile once the light is turned off. Cute concept and neat once it is finished, it is just a very finicky project that needs a lot of adult help to complete.
