Very beautiful bowls by Ello with a lids that seal very well. The sage color is unique %26 adds a lovely touch! I was looking for a glass bowl that had a very easy to use lid. I do not like in any way those bowl lids that come with clamps needing extra force application on the sides to keep in place, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this Ello bowl with the sage lid which is very effective%26 beautiful at the same time. I'm happy I bought two of these bowls %26 will purchase more if the need arises. With the 11cup capacity, I'm able to store larger amounts of food for the fridge or freezer. Great design and very sturdy!

This is a very versatile item, as one can bake their fave recipe in it(without the sage lid of course), serve in said container and then safely wash in the dishwasher. On top of that, its compact stacking shape allows easy storage of leftovers without taking up loads of space. This is easily stacked in the cabinet and also the fridge. I've also used it at a potluck event to hold cut fruit and cheese. I love this item so much, I've purchased another. An added bonus is the reasonable price. I definitely recommend this for your kitchen!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think if we've reached a point in life where we're reading and writing reviews on kitchenware, we've acquired a dozen or so food storage containers from family, unimaginatively gifting friends and the inevitable piece that you're given cookies in and intend to return but wind up just using for 6 months until you see them again. As a former professional in kitchens and having seen a lifetime of bad results stemming from less than effective containers, this product does a few things without even coming out of the box. It satisfies my need for a glass vessel, a compulsive desire to avoid unsafe plastic lids that are commonly sold with the container and renders the fact that glass is hygienic irrelevant. It avoids the snapping lid things that so many of these things have nowadays, rendering me unable ever to seal or, more importantly, quietly treat myself to food past 9 pm for fear of waking someone in the house. The rest is simple, besides anything that is a variable between this version and others like color or size, this product offers a great seal with a reassuringly decent amount of effort required to close it, with a strong and food safe lid that flexes enough to apply vacuum but is rigid enough to be stackable on or under food in the fridge. The leaf/peel corner here is a nice touch, opening every time with a great seal mechanic, whereas other products I have found members of my family incapable of opening them when a little food fermentation vacuum applies.

It doesn't stay on securely, especially when storing soup or anything with liquid. I had a spill during travel because the lid came off too easily. If you're using it just for solid foods at home, it's great. But if you're hoping to transport it or store liquids, be cautious.

Lid doesn't fit or stay on! Disappointing as the size and quality of glass is great. It's hard to find glass containers this large!
