Emerson Quiet Kool 8,000 BTU 115V Window Air Conditioner with Remote Control

Very nice air conditioner! Works great. We just found out that new air conditioners don't have a drain hole, they have what the technician called evaporative technology ! Water fills the drain pan and then a "slinger" slings the water onto the coils to evaporate. So not to worry when you install yours.

I had this sent to my house and it showed up 5 days earlier than expected. Assembly was very easy and it has been running for a week now with zero problems. I love that the display can be turned off at night while sleeping and it runs much quieter than other models I have had in the past. It also cools my very large room with ease.

Was delivered on time. Unit comes fully assembled except for the expandable side curtains. The side curtains are a snap to put on though. They slide right into the cutouts on the sides of the cabinet. They're very clearly marked LEFT and RIGHT for easy installation. After that you can literally put it in your window, attach 3 screws, plug it in and you're all set! The control panel is easy to operate and has a nice blue display with large numbers for the temperature setting. I bought this for my 87 year old Mother who is not electronic savvy at all. But she figured out how to work the air conditioner in just a few minutes. The control panel also has large clearly labeled buttons too. Another plus for an elderly person! The only thing I would have added is a guard for the condenser coils on the back of the unit. There is none. The fan is powerful and quiet. Moves a lot of air, especially on high speed! I highly recommend this product!! Well worth the money!!

Only 4/5 because you have to do some assembly work that other a/c's have already done for you. Assembly pictures not very helpful either. As for the a/c itself, so far it works great. It's really quiet and puts out cold/dry air. Just the way it should. WM price is great where others sell it for about $100 more. Happy I bought it and would recommend to anyone needing a good a/c to cool up to 700 sq ft area.

we will have to see how it works, I just received it. But it is not the same as the photo on this ad. My high back couch sits in front of the AC. So I wanted a quiet AC unit that had the controls on top as shown above. Just received the item, and it is along the left side running to the bottom as most other AC units. Very Disappointed!

Customer service seems non existent, sadly! Have called several times and sent messages as well. Remote is defective and needs replacing. I'm elderly and disabled. In order for it to work, you have to be directly in front of unit and aim it. Also displayed temperature is faulty.

1) While unit looks nice, unit gradually became noisier/louder - such that not feasible to use in bedroom. My older Emerson Quiet Kool was significantly quieter. Unit cooled off 350 sq ft room very nicely as advertised. We left unit on to cool room then once cooled turned it off to sleep. Too bad EQK couldn't make a quieter unit. 2) EQK was advertised as made in USA. Unit sticker noted it was made in China. 3) No response when calling the toll free support number. Left msg several times. 4) Unit became louder with more use. A rumbling/grumbling noise started to come from the unit.

Perfect size and seemed to be good quality, but once installed and plugged in it wouldn't come on. Used the owners manual to troubleshoot the problem and none were applicable as to why it wouldn't come on. Very greatly disappointed. With this extremely hot weather, it was really a necessity to have air conditioning. Hated to have to return it but so far so good. Hoping I will be promptly reimbursed for this expense.

I installed this air conditioner in April. In August my floors started buckling. Figured out that this air conditioner has been consistently leaking water onto my floor, which leaked into the subfloor and DESTROYED MY ENTIRE FLOOR. I've contacted the company with no reply from them.

This is a completely different AC than the one I ordered. I ordered the one pictured on the website because I liked that the control panel was so small and in the corner. It has all of the same abilities as the one on the website but it is NOT quiet what so ever. It is louder than my old one that I had for 4 years. The side of my AC also came dented. Extremely disappointed that I spent so much on an AC that I wanted and got something that looks completely different!
