Fire alarm contest winner

ABookNerd January 3, 2026

After nearly four years of use, I found this battery was the only one that had not failed and thereby set off my battery warning on the fire detectors. I put a different name brand in all but one because I’ve had poor performance from the batteries that come with new detectors. I know you’re supposed to change batteries more often, so call this an experiment if you’d like. I call these batteries the winner. They power my TENS unit for more sessions than other standard 9v alkaline. They have kept my multimeter and other 9v powered tools running for years at a time when others give up within a year under similar conditions and use. Would recommend for longevity and consistency.

Energizer for all your battery needs.

colleen May 2, 2026

Always bought Energizer value for cost efficiency. I could always rely on energizer for smoke alarms, flash lights, no corrosion, all battery operated devices, open with ease.

Dependable and Long Lasting

Gladys April 15, 2026

Not the least expensive, but long lasting and reliable. The only battery we’ll use in our smoke detectors. Best battery I’ve tried to ensure our smoke detectors work when we need them to work, which is often if 8’m doing the cooking.

Best bang for your buck

Christine February 13, 2026

I needed to replace a couple of batteries in my smoke detectors. I tend to search on line for the best price as well as availability for items I don’t buy regularly. Walmart, once again, surpassed all other stores in the area with the best pricing and fast delivery. 😁

Expensive But Necessary

ButterCookie January 28, 2026

Boy are batteries expensive. I keep these on hand for my smoke detectors. Who wants a smoke detector to start chirping in the middle of the night and be caught without the correct size batteries? WalMart had the best deal I could find.

These batteries happened to be on sale. I only change the batteries if my smoke detectors start beeping. I also have a monitored fire detector alert with ADT, so a two pack is good for me.

Trustworthy Battery

Andrea December 7, 2025

Always good battery choice. Especially for something as important as a smoke/carbon dioxide detector. I trust energizer!

Not so great or better.

Shannon November 25, 2025

They don't really seem much better then the other guys honestly. I'm turned off even more by the price for nothing any better and they keep raising the price.

Buy rechargeable

Elizabeth March 9, 2026

I find that any brand of battery does not last like they used to and since I don't stock up on batteries anymore, I'm not impressed with the shelf life. Batteries are expensive and wasteful and a necessary evil.
