I've only had this printer for half a day, but I'm happy. My old printer was a 10-year old Epson; I was happy that I could replace it with one that has the same small footprint, and that works pretty much the same way. I liked the the old scanning software and that's very similar. The non-touch screen display on the machine is similar, so that's not a problem. I was so anxious about installing it, but the instructions were clear for using the controls on the machine, and it all worked. The small print on my crossword puzzle is nice and crisp.
The printer was delivered promptly. When we finally had an opportunity to connect it up we followed the directions & prompts and everything seems to be working properly. Prints much faster than our previous printer. So far so good.
The instructions to install were difficult to follow. The print was so tiny. The basic installation was not bad but if you want to add other features, you need to go to the Epson site. I did not see anywhere in instructions to do this. Overall, the instructions were not good. I just knew to go to the Epson website because I was replacing an Epson. The one thing I noticed is that it goes through ink fast. In the settings, you have to change this to draft or fast. You also need to go into the windows settings to allow the print notifications to appear. From there, you can easily change the default settings
Sometimes it prints great other times it takes 30 minutes to print one page or it will even give an error halfway through printing. I can't figure out why. My last Epson was great. Maybe this one is just defective. I'm probably returning today for a new one because this one clearly has been having issues for over a week now. Can't work like this.
I've just had the printer for a few days. It started off ok but after 10 printings the quality went downhill with broken lines and poor color and resolution. After an ink head cleaning the quality returned. But now after few print jobs the ink is low notification is coming up which is ridiculous. Not impressed.
4x6 photo paper had problems and it uses only HP ink. The new firmware that's downloaded automatically rejects reman inks. The consumer has no choice.
I bought this NON-RETURNABLE PRINTER as a substitute for a large printer which I have. However, it was too heavy for me to pick up, much less be portable. I did not realize the item was non-returnable until I realized I couldn't use it and needed to return it. I have been trying to give it away to someone who could pick it up and needs a new printer. No luck so far. It was a waste of my money. That said, I hadve no idea whether it is a good printer or not because I had my son put it right back in the box in the back end of my car. Last resort I will donate it to Goodwill or Salvation Army. If an item is non-returnable it should be clearly marked on the website in large print. Disappointed in Walmart for selling this.
Could not complete set up of printer because Epson ink cartridge didn't have sufficient ink. I ordered overnight Epson ink from Amazon. Spent 1.5!hours total on Epson support. Rather than wait for them to ask Walmart to send me ink, I asked if I could use the ink I ordered. The printer consumed the ink. I needed black ink after printing six pages. The help desk needed proof of purchase. No problem I sent all my online information for purchase. Not enough. I'm sending a k to Walmart! Don't waste your money on XP 5200
Not a good printer the instructions were not clear. I want a printer for my computer, not my cellphone. I want a refund. The print doesn't work properly.
Have to use name brand ink, the printer didn't recognize the off-brand even though it says it will. It ran through ink very fast. A new set of ink cartridges cost around $50 .
