70% isopropyl alcohol is generally more effective as a disinfectant against bacteria, viruses, and other microbes compared to 91%. The key reason is that the 30% water content in the 70% solution helps the alcohol penetrate cell walls more thoroughly, allowing it to denature proteins and disrupt cellular structures before evaporating. In contrast, 91% isopropyl alcohol evaporates faster and tends to coagulate proteins on the surface of microbes, forming a barrier that can reduce its overall killing power, especially against certain pathogens—it may require longer contact times to achieve similar results. That said, 91% can be preferable for non-disinfection tasks, like cleaning electronics or removing adhesives, where quicker drying and less water residue are beneficial. For general sanitizing (e.g., on skin or surfaces), stick with 70% unless specified otherwise by health guidelines.
This works as well as any name brand product at a lower price. Why pay more for a name brand when you can get the same results for less. I am stunned at Walmart shipping. I ordered my items one day, and they were here the very next day. I really hope Walmart keeps up their shipping practice like this. Way To Go Walmart.....
We continuously keep a bottle of it in cabinet. I love the shape to maximize cabinet space. The only change would be the size of the cap opening. It tends to pour out too much at a time. To work around this, I don't remove the seal underneath the cap; but I make a small hole in it and replace the cap.
I order 6 of these every 3 months.... There great to have in my house, in my garage, in my shop and at work. We use the for disinfectant and a mixture for cleaning my windows, with Windex it cuts right through the grime and leaves your windows spotless, no streaking.
Pour into plastic spray bottles, set on fine spray and use quite to sanitize / deodorize surfaces in bathrooms %26 kitchen. Plus on hands or lite spray inside of garments. Spray cleans large mirrors without streaks. (Don't spray wood or painted areas.)
The Equate 70% Isopropyl Alcohol Antiseptic, 32 fl oz is easy to use for a multitude of purposes. From cleaning minor cuts and abrasions to cleaning keyboard keys and computer mouse. It has remained reasonably priced and is the only brand I purchase.
Folks, if you are in the market for 70% Isopropyl Alcohol this is most definitely the bottle that you should be ordering. I have made my statement in that manner because Walmart sells a smaller bottle (16oz) of exactly the same product, but they charge more money for it. I am not able to see the clarity in that decision, but know that if you do a general search on the Walmart website the other bottle may come up first (the 16oz). But that is not the one that you should be purchasing. It is exactly the same product, I have had them both in my home. One is simply more expensive than the other and although I cannot understand the logic behind it, the smaller bottle (16oz)Is more expensive than the larger one (32oz) .It's simply makes good sense to buy the larger bottle. The actual quality of the product is excellent and what one would receive from any other manufacturer of 70% Isopropyl Alcohol. I definitely recommend the larger bottle.
I use a LOT of rubbing alcohol, and the Equate brand is cheap and never lets me down. I use it to sanitize my hands, clean my phone and tablet, erase permanent marker like it never existed...I use it for everything short of cooking breakfast. At this point it’s my unofficial housekeeper. A few other things I may have used it for: ~Getting mystery goo off things I don’t remember buying ~Reviving scissors that have seen one too many sticky situations ~Cleaning my counters so well they started judging the rest of the house I even make my own sanitizing wipes by soaking unscented baby wipes with it in a zip bag. It works shockingly well, is cheaper than buying them premade, and I get to use the wipes I prefer. Super useful, super affordable, and I go through it like it’s a basic utility. Absolutely a staple in my house.
I like this 70% alcohol better than the stronger one. I use it to remove medicine patch sticky residue. it works well to remove that residue and doesn’t overdry the skin. The price is good. If they raise the price over $3.00 I'm not sure I'd recommend it.
I can't believe I'm actually having to complain about rubbing alcohol. I've used this product most of my life so I understand that this might be an accident or an honest issue but with shrinkflation and price gouging going on it's hard to ignore. I opened the bottle to use it and noticed no smell of alcohol. i put it on my wound and there was no burning. It goes without saying that there's no alcohol but all water in this bottle. Walmart refunded me without question but I'm losing my faith in Walmart as a customer. It used to be product trustworthy and now products are smaller, more expensive, and of terrible quality.
