Equate Otoscope
I bought this Basic Otoscope for my use and it is a simple device to help look into the ear canal with using safety guidelines. This unit is a very basic type which you have ability to check others ears but there's no way to check your own ears which more expensive more advanced Otoscopes have the upper hand advantage allowing a bird's eye view. I have not researched those types only this one which I highly recommend to anyone who is thinking about one. Thx kindly

What is that barrel for?
I cannot even pretend to know what the barrel shaped lens with the slot in it is for..zero instructions for use.

old engineer says it's Decent
This thing is decent, par The "barrel" reviewers talk about turns this into an inspection light by protecting the LED and your eyes from stray light. Take off the 90 degree earpiece and the barrel goes over the LED end of the light. The light output is more than adequate for ear hole peering. I like it.

Great little tool for SLPs.
I purchased this originally for my husband because he was having ear pain. We figured out what it was by the time it arrived. however, when I saw the quality of it I realized I could keep it for work. I miss school SLP and this little tool would come in handy when I do oral exams

Don't buy it
The magnifine part is plastic and melted using rubbing alcohol to sanitize it. You would think it would be glass or atleast have a 2nd one come with it. Not worth the price
