Delicious 22g protein for smoothies

gayle March 25, 2026

This tastes great as a smoothie. One serving - which is two scoops - gives 22 g of protein. I blend it with milk and some berries or frozen banana and it makes a delicious and satisfying breakfast. I also tried the vanilla powder which is OK but the chocolate is definitely a better taste in my opinion.

Loyalty Now !!!!Outperformed big name store brand

Butterflybaby May 12, 2026

my son uses this plant based to make his shakes in the morning. we made the switch when the store was out of said name brand. we were all pleastantly surprised thay it mimics the big store brands. we have stayed with this equate version and havent went back to the bigname store one. thank you walmart. will you make a chocolate and peanut butter flavor please 🙏 😋

Great taste and great price

Sean April 27, 2025

I was skeptical to get the new re brand version based on reviews, but not sure what people are complaining about. I've also tried every plant protein there is, this is still the best tasting. I switched back to NOW pea protein after reading reviews on here and that one is double the price, mixes terrible and is chalky. This plant protein mixes well and is very smooth. Mix this with a little bit of almond milk and it tastes amazing. If you're mixing with water then of course you are not going to get a great taste. My only complaint is the rebrand offers less protein (use to be 30g protein per serving which was 2 scoops, now 21g protein) and the amino profile is half of what is use to be. Also wish they solder a bigger container. However, for $13 you are not going to find a better quality for the price.

Shake it baby, shake it!

MatureShopper December 5, 2025

I tried this Equate brand of dry protein powder because it does not require refrigeration. I chose the chocolate version (the only other is vanilla) to mix with nonfat milk; water is also suggested. It is okay but not quite as tasty as Equate already-mixed protein shakes; it might be a bit thinner. However, I stir it in, so suggest shaking it if you can do so w/o making a mess. A serving provides 21-gm of protein and 4-mg iron, which is great! However, when I purchased it, I did not realize that the large, 14 oz. plastic tub is NOT recyclable (It's crossed out on the "chasing arrows" recycling symbol). Uh-oh!

Protein powder gets 4 Stars

anonymous June 28, 2025

I am a loyal customer of anything Walmart!!! Great Value, Equate or any of the many other private label. companies all have my seal of approval. The only negative I have with the protein powder is that I need to buy 3 tubs of Equate to get my 30 servings per month which costs more than if I bought 2 larger tubs from another company. 15 servings per container would be great for me

Several years ago I used the optavia healthy eating plan. They have shakes and snacks. The eating plan is good and I did lose weight. I went off the eating plan and used what I had learned about healthy eating to keep my weight off. That is when I discovered equate protein shake mix. I have tried some other brands and equate is my favorite! It used to come in a larger container that I guess is the only negative thing I would say about it. I started using it while I was still drinking coffee and if You are a person who loves to have some chocolate in your coffee that's a good way to go.

Doubled to tripled in price

Jason January 10, 2026

This plant based protein was under 20.00 for 2 pounds, 32 ounces for years. From 15.00-20.00. They stopped selling it temporarily and then came back out with this same product, but for 2.5 times the price. It was 15.00 for years. Then went to 16, then 18.00 for 32 ounces. Now the size is less than half of what it was. We're actively looking for an alternative.

This protein powder used to taste so good and wasn't gritty. Adding the rice, caused changes I don't care for. It was such a great product before. It didn't need a change. I bought dozens of containers in the past. I wish you could go back to the old recipe.

do your research

I don't love this I don't like the gritty texture I don't like the flavor whatsoever but what I do like is that it's derived from places that I want my protein to come from. I don't think I would buy it again I think I would just get vanilla and use fruit to hide the flavor and texture. But if you want protein from the sources and you don't care about taste or texture then it's fine.

Just OK - no flavor %26 gritty but affordable

anonymous June 4, 2025

I normally buy Vega brand on Amazon, but I needed some protein powder the same day, so I ordered this, thinking it was a good buy. If you're easy to please, then for the price, this is a decent option. However, it did not taste like chocolate at all (just no flavor) and has some sort of weird sparkle to the powder that none of the other brands I buy have - seemed odd, like what is that exactly? I would not recommend or buy this store brand again, namely for the lack of flavor, and it doesn't have the smooth consistency other brands have.
