I like the Equate chocolate protein shakes. It tastes similar to the Atkins. My children however do prefer the name brand and complain the equate shakes have an aftertaste. It doesn't bother me so I prefer to go with the cheaper of the two, which is the equate. I like the 30 grams of protein!
These shakes have 30 grams of protein and the texture is smooth, not chalky or with a funky aftertaste. I am so happy that I gave them a try because they are less expensive and taste better than some expensive brands that I have chunked into the trash can.
I've been buying the Equate vanilla protein shakes for many years but recently noticed a change in my aging taste buds. I recently decided to try the chocolate protein shakes %26 I was hooked. It is now my favorite Equate Protein Shake. So, please don't buy these out at my Walmart store as I must have them. (sarcasm)
Well, I probably have to fill out a 150 reviews on this. Because we buy it every week. 212 packs a week for me and my husband we've both been drinking one a day for energy in the morning, also for all the protein and vitamins and oh my God, it's so delicious. I love the vanilla , my favorite kind , very , very tasty milkshake , you'll love it
My dr informed me my protein levels were too low for healing after surgery. He recommended protein shakes either powder, I'd need to mix or pre-made (my choice) such as Walmart's brand. Walmart's brand, while cheaper is still costly when you need to drink 3 per day just to get levels up HOWEVER... it did the trick. Plus, between the cheaper than brand name GV brand non fat Greek yogurt AND one protein shake daily (I prefere the caramel flavor... oh yummy) I've been able to keep my protein level up with the shakes, the yogurt and other food based proteins. I've not seen Walmart have a "sale" on pre-made shakes but I have found them cheaper on a rival platform and occasionally I'll stock up on that. Overall the Walmart brand is a solid choice I'd recommend if you need to boost you protein levels for any reason
I have Neuropathy in my feet which includes much swelling. But I've noticed the swelling has gone down since using Equate chocolate Protein Shake on a regular basis. I've tried to see if something rlse was reducing the swelling. but I keep coming back to Equate Protein Shakes.
Overall, the flavor on its own is okay, not superb, it’s okay mixed in coffee but not quite sweet enough to replace creamer entirely (I usually use just creamer rather than cream and sugar). Relatively good texture until the last sip which has some sediment.
I got this based on everyone's reviews and price was great. However, the taste is not the worst but not enjoyable either. But forget about that, the TEXTURE. Even after shaking it like a maniac, the texture is a gooey, thick something. Sigh. And it wasn't 1, it was all of them. Do not recommend.
I really wanted to like these, because they were so much cheaper than the Orgain, which has become too expensive. However, they tasted almost medicinal, and I felt a bit sick after drinking it. The aftertaste was nauseating. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with 11 more of these. But I will not be buying them again.
The taste of this High Protein version is terrible compared to other Equate nutritional shakes (the 8 ounce Plus and 11 ounce Meal Replacement Shakes) we've had before. I checked the ingredient list afterward and now see this has sucralose in it, which is my assumption for the nasty taste. Will not be ordering this again.
