On one of the coldest days of the year, my daughter's 2019 Jeep Renegade Latitude edition factory battery died. Of course, I researched why the battery for this car was so expensive, and it's because from the factory they install a 680cca AGM (Augmented Glass Mat) battery. I couldn't understand what was wrong with the traditional flooded lead-acid batteries of yesteryear. Some further research I found out that in today's modern cars, the manufacturers install so many electronic features such as Start/Stop, the large infotainment systems, electronically enabled parking brake, and all the modules and sensors that all talk to the ECM. I think more engineering goes into modern cars than the Saturn 5 rocket that NASA used to get us to the moon. But for the price point and the warranty, I figured, why not? It's a great Value for the money. The battery fits, no problem to install, plus it has more cold cranking amps than the OEM battery, it's a win-win!!!
I needed a good battery and I chose this one. Has a four year warranty. Works well so far. Make sure you select the correct CC's for your car. The dimensions are different as well.
It had the best pricing by far of any battery I could find for my car. It also had the best warranty. I installed itmyself and reset the battery monitor . The battery has been excellent. Very strong. I bought another for my Tacoma pickup shortly afterwards.
When / If, I need another batter, I would NOT purchase it online. I would just purchase it in store. Purchasing online messes up the ability for the store to give you the Core Charge Credit. I had to take my old battery to another place to get the $10 core charge credit. It would have been simple had I bought the new battery in the store. It is kind of a quirky system, but I spent an hour trying to Call Walmart Customer Service and jump through hoops. I must say the FREE installation of the battery saves so much from other places that charge. I have a pickup truck and other places charge extra for a install in a truck. I would 100% buy again from Walmart and have them install it for free!
Fits my 2016 Jeep Rubicon well. Starts well with plenty of power. Note: battery needs to be charged before use-yes it will start your car, but when I put it on my large Schumacher professional charger, it showed 77% charge. Took about 8 hrs to full charge. After that, performed well
I have used Everstart batteries in many cars. They perform as good as the expensive brand name batteries. The last two I purchased were the Max version, which is the higher price and quality, but still much cheaper than other store brands. I have gotten many years of service out of them.
The battery itself may be good, but the pickup and return process was frustrating. I received it without packaging, dusty, and without a receipt. I asked for installation and core return — the associate left and never came back. I waited and left with no help. Later I found my old battery still worked and returned to bring this one back. Despite the app clearly saying returns are allowed within 90 days if unused, I was refused. First they said “it works,” then “the barcode doesn’t match.” I never installed it, only checked the voltage. Still, the manager refused to help and didn’t offer any complaint form. I left with the battery and a very negative impression. I expected more from Walmart. A good product means little if the service around it is this confusing and unhelpful.
Having the battery delivered was very convenient. However that’s where to positives ended. Returning the core was not an easy tasks. When I took the core back to the local Walmart it took 20 minutes for the team to figure out how to refund me the $12 charged. Despite the receipt clearly stating a %2612 charge the system would not show that once the barcode was scanned on the receipt. A manager had to override the process which took about 20 minutes to find him and get to the refund. You’ll need to get the core return process fixed.
I bought this online and they charged me $12.00 core fee. I done the curb pickup. I wanted to return my old battery for my core fee and the auto center told me since I did the curb pickup, I could'nt return the old battery for my core fee refund. Now I'm out $12$ plus I'm stuck with the old battery that I don't know what to do with.
The EverStart Platinum AGM H7 is a perfect technical fit for the 2019 VW Tiguan, offering a great capacity upgrade. However, I was very disappointed that the Walmart Auto Care Center refused to install it, despite the vehicle's battery tray being designed to accommodate this larger size.
