I made this order for Xmas cat gifts this year (2025)... so I can't speak to its germination rate yet as I'm planning on making a catnip patch outside in Spring. However, I can say that the package is well sealed in a foil package (known for perserving ripeness longer than a plactic pouch), with a USE BY for May next year. Other seeds I've had in foil packages germinate much better than seeds I've had from either plastic or paper packages. Also, don't worry if your cat(s) don't seem to be immediately drawn to fresh catnip, some of my cats prefer to let it dry for a day or two and then love it. Frankly, catnip is in the mint family so grow it in a pot if you don't want it to spread. Also the flower is boring, but I don't care - I have an ugly area on my property that could stand some tallish (~3 feet tall previously) spreaders. I have outside barn cats that will roll in it (prevents and treats fleas as well as giving a harmless euphoria) and indoor cats that just love both fresh and dried. One plant makes many branches if you let it grow tall so this seed packet is very economical considering how expensive dried catnip is in my area. Catnip is a perennial so unless you weed it out (which is what happened with my previous plants) it will come back year after year. Just remember, its kinda tall, gangly and ugly so grow it behind other better looking plants and your cats will love you. Also a loving option to plant behind a pet memorial if you wish. Just don't grow it too close to a high traffic area, some place out of the way behind garden view is best. Think landscape filler that you can later harvest from. Why none of my local nurseries carry pots of the stuff anymore (even the pet stores don't carry fresh plants) is beyond me. Smells better than tansy and super easy to grow once seeded in spring.

Growing indoors and they love it

Put some seeds in a pot with soil like I was supposed to, seems to be growing very slowly. Might be that, yes the sun does get to them but it does have it's cold moments, either way plants are growing very slowly. Will save the rest of the packet for warmer weather time to see if that makes them grow faster. So much for the good treat for my cat, that is to have fresh grown catnip. Not sure I would buy again though.

I've been trying to grow catnip for Max all spring and summer with no luck 😞 Then a fellow cat mommy told me that she was going to order these seeds. I was hesitant about the total cost of seeds, shipping, etc. But I broke down and did the same hoping for a batch but no luck. I'm sad....

planted 10 seeds. only one sprouted, and its not doing well. paid more in shipping than i did for seeds. never will i buy from everwilde farms again. expensive garbage.

they never grew I even tried some indoors , in different soils and outdoors and not even a sprout
