The Five Star Hickory and Oak Blend Grilling and Smoking Pellets by Expert Grill were easy to use. After feeding the hickory and oak pellets into the smoker, the pellets ignited well, and the smoker was able to get up to temperature in a timely fashion. The hardwood pellets keep an even temperature, burning hot and clean. The twenty pounds of USA made, one hundred percent all natural pellets have a pleasing aroma, and were not dusty like some pellets. We were pleased with the Expert Grill Five Star Hickory and Oak Blend Grilling and Smoking pellets.
I have to start with the fact that I already like the Expert brand. I bought Expert hickory charcoal and mesquite charcoal and really liked the wood flavors. So, when looking I was looking at pellets for my Expert grill and smoker, I checked out the Expert Grill Five Star Blend Grilling Pellets. You can't say anything bad about these pellets. They are 100% natural, no harmful additives. They are pure hickory and oak. They are also made in the USA. I like that. I know that I am, again, using a quality product that will work well in my grill and smoker. These pellets will give my grilled foods a great flavor. I can trust that Expert Grilling Pellets are perfect for my grilling.
These worked great for our chicken, you can see the nice smoke ring all the way around. We got about 4 smokes one this one bag, or maybe 15 hours per bag depending on your grill and temperature. We used this on chicken, beef ribs and pork, the flavor was great with all the meats.
Hello fellow BBQ fans, I tried these Expert Grill Five Star Blend Grilling Pellets on my New Expert Grill and I really enjoyed the Smokey flavor and how slow and steady they burned compared to other pellets from other manufactures. (IMO) I will only use these Expert Grill Five Star Hickory and Oak blend Grilling and Smoking Pellets in my New system for now on. I'm truly satisfied. They provide a truly Aromatic Blend of Versatile flavors with a slow and even burn. I also enjoy the fact that you can purchase a 20lb. bag of them to last several BBQ's. The only Problem was finding them this time of year at my local retailer. Sure hope they start to stock them year round in my area. So In Conclusion, Yes!.. I would suggest these Grilling Pellets to family and friends and don't be confused about there inexpensive price. They truly are as good as the more expensive brands out there.
I used the Expert Grill Five Star Hickory & Oak Blend Pellets in our Commodore Pellet Grill. However, they would work well in any Pellet Grill. As a 1st Time User, I was glad they have a recommendation of the amount to use on the bag. The pellets are easy to work with. The remaining Pellets need to be stored in a dry place, just like charcoal. I love the smokey taste of BBQ and The Expert Grill Pellets delivered. I'm Extremely Pleased & will definitely purchase again.
These are the pellets that go with a Pellet Grill. They come in a durable heavy bag that it is easy to rip or tear open. Your grill will have you load the pellets so it will work properly. They have different flavors and this is a good neutral flavor.
Because grilling season is past where I live and I don't have an indoor pellet stove, I haven't really had an opportunity to use these pellets yet. However, looking at their size and content description, these look to be a hotter-burning, longer-burning pellet than those I used this past summer, since both hickory and oak are slow-burning hard woods. I just wish I'd discovered these pellets about 4 months earlier so I could have first-hand experience with them rather than stating what their obvious benefits are given the size of the pellets and the types of wood used in their manufacture.
We got these pellets to go along with an Expert Grill pellet smoker. I’ve been a longtime meat smoker but this was my first experience with a pellet smoker. I’ve always smoked with charcoal. These pellets seemed to be of mostly good quality as far as I can tell without much experience, although I have used a couple other brands of pellets so do have somewhat of a comparison basis. Pros are that they burn well, the smoke is light and not overwhelming, and it adds good flavor to the meat. The few cons that were noticed were that the pellets seemed to get stuck in the hopper very easily compared to the other brands I’ve tried. They also didn’t fall into the chute very well either. In addition, these pellets were also dust covered and the bag was pretty full of pellet dust as well. This created an issue with the smoker and fan the blowing dust all around, which I really didn’t care for much at all. That all being said, I did like these pellets and the flavor they gave the food so I would purchase again, but just be more cognizant of the issues I’ve had previously.
I recently used a bag of Expert Grill Five Star Blend Grilling Pellets with my new pellet grill. The pellets were well-packaged in a durable plastic bag that was easy to transport and did not puncture or tear. The pellets were well-formed and uniformly sized, with very minimal pellet breakage. The hardwood blend created aromatic smoke and produced the desired smoke ring and distinctive flavor I was seeking. The bag did contain a considerable amount of pellet dust, which can cause a variety of problems including flareups, unreliable burn temperatures, and excessive cleanup problems if left uncorrected. I have only used one bag of Expert Grill pellets, so I don’t know if this is typical of the brand. However, a quick sifting of the bag’s contents got rid of the pellet dust, and they performed perfectly in subsequent cooks.
Product arrived open with pellets coming out. No box or anything.
