Threw the instructions away, took maybe 6 or 7 seconds and 2 tries to figure out how it works. Purposefully tried to cut myself with a can and lid after opening it since Technology Connections on YouTube said it wouldn't be sharp, no harm done (I would've sued if I was cut). No sharp edges makes it more convenient to clean out the can. Better than the classic can openers since I won't accidentally break it by squeezing the handles too hard. Doesn't need to be cleaned unless you decide to dunk it into the can you just opened. Only downsides are not seeing the area you just cut since you won't realize you're already done sometimes, and it seems slightly slower. Once you get used to the barely noticeable drawbacks, you'll like this better than a normal can opener.
I wished I had purchased one of these years ago. No more half cut tops. Metal to cut u. Fighting bent cans. Once u get this figured out. Its easy fast smooth. Lid comes off. No sharp edges. No squeezing handles that end up bent out of shape trying to catch bent up cans edges.
It pens can easier than any one I have ever tried except maybe an electric one. Just remember to tilt it slightly after going all the way around to lit the opened lid with ease
I got this for my elderly mother because she has a hard time with the electric can opener and the hand held one that cuts the can,she cut herself real bad. This can opener is the BEST,it is so easy to use once you figure out how to hold it on the can it is easy as can be.! Little tip,lay it on the putter side of the can, press down a little not too firm and angle slightly up and start turning the top comes off and literally looks like a lid when it's off. I am so glad I found this for my mother.
I loved it at the time of purchase. It is similar to the more expensive models, but stopped working within a month. I went back to the old style and it still works after a year.
I tried to follow the directions. Repeatedly. I'm sure it works, but I couldn't do it. I gave it away eith the instructions and bought an electric can opener and traditional, manual can opener as a backup when the power goes out.
I had a "Safe-T-can" that I bought in the late 90s, which worked great all these years but finally gave out. This one was all I could get as a quick replacement. It does not grip the can well and I have to fight with it for a while to get it to work.
Its a pretty can opener that doesn't work. If I were locked in a room full of cans and this can opener, I would die a slow death. Sometimes it would work, sometimes the gears would slip, and sometimes it would just skim across the lead leaving a trail of metal slivers to contaminate the contents. It may be operator error, but should a can opener be so complicated? I read the directions and was successful on a few attempts, but failed on most. I'm giving a 2 out of 5 star rating, because it might open 2 out of 5 cans.
SOMETIMES IT WORKS, SOMETIMES IT DON'T. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO GO AROUND A CAN 4 AND 5 TIMES AND IT STILL DOESN'T CUT THROUGH
Just awful, kinda awkward to hold, completely useless for cans bigger or smaller than your standard ~16oz cans, and already going dull after several cans. For small cans like Rotel or tomato paste it has trouble with the tighter radius, constantly slipping off the rim. For larger cans it seems unable to cut deep enough or far down the rim enough to actually make it through.
