It's simply designed, easy to install and it works

After having for a week, no problems. Just pull red tab and screw into provided mount. I used my original mount to screw in, The testing feature works fine. The red light flashes intermittently to ensure unit is working. No false alarms so far. However, I don't think battery will last 10 yrs based upon other reviews but even if it last 5 yrs I''l be happy knowing that I can forget about it until the unit beeps for replacement. I replaced my detectors because the plug in electrical ones that came with the house always beeped like a bird every time the power went off and would not reset properly.

I like the loud sound as it would awaken me when napping or in the night in another room. It does, however, need to be replaced before 10 years. My last one started beeping constantly at a little over 8 years to let me know it needed to be replaced. I liked that.

it was just what we needed. it was easy to install. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I have no idea if it will last 10 years. we bought it to replace another alarm that pooped out after 3.

Delivered in July. It is now October and the alarm is dead. Very disappointed.

Detectors have been sitting on a shelf or in a warehouse for an extended period of time. The detectors are equipped with a built in 10 year battery which is already 2 years into its battery life (started in December *********). They shouldn't have been sold at a elevated price and difficult to return upon learning date issue.

This smoke detector was not universal and even though it was the same brand as the current smoke detectors in my home they are not compatible. I even purchased adaptors and they still could not be used. I sent a question to the producer and never heard back.

I sent the smoke detectors back to Walmart because they do not fit the standards for the Stste of Maryland's smoke detector law. I am still waiting for my refund.

Not sure if this is a genuine First Alert smoke alarm. Not working after activating the alarm upon taking it out of the box and pulling the activation tab. Called customer service to inquire. It does not seem to be the same quality at all as the prior First Alert smoke detector I owned at all. I would be very hesitant in purchasing this.
