This hose is a very sturdy flat rubber hose. It amazes me that it's so light and easy to use. I bought this one for my back garden. It rolls up in seconds. I'm seventy three years old with arthritis and nerve damage in my arms and I can't handle it with ease. I can't wait to get another one for up front!
I was a bit disappointed when the box arrived and it was so light. I thought I had made a bad purchase. I was wrong. The hose is wonderful. Once it is rolled out, it is easy to manage once water is flowing through it. The light weight and flatness are deceiving. This a a very durable hose. No kinking and won't freeze in winter. As the hose is rolled up, any excess water drains rapidly. I definitely recommend this type of hose to anyone.
As someone who does a lot of watering in a large yard, I've gone through plenty of hoses, but this is easily the best one I've ever owned. It's remarkably lightweight and very easy to maneuver, which makes a big difference when i'm watering such a large span of yard. It's truly kink-resistant, and the texture allows it to glide smoothly when I'm dragging it across the deck or driveway. It coils up neatly without a fight and doesn't take up a ton of room on the hose rack. We have really high water pressure and that combined with really hot weather has been an issue with previous hoses but this hose feels solid enough to withstand the pressure well. I dont anticipate it bulging and coming apart over time like my other hoses have. Overall, this hose has been a fantastic upgrade and makes my yard work and watering noticeably easier.
I hoped it wound have been more like the flatjacket hoses, - did not expect the rubbery coating (- my fault -). I hoped the connectors would be more solid. The reviews on Walmart.com looked deceptively fine. - Only after purchase did I find the very contrary reviews on other websites.
We followed all the directions; didn't leave it out in the sun, never left it under water pressure, etc. But it still started leaking within 3 months of first using it. And that leak went from a small spray to a giant leak within moments of noticing it. Very light, really easy to coil up and move around but VERY poor durability. Definitely NOT worth it.
Not sure why the great reviews, I hated this hose and it's not at all what I expected. It's a flat rubber hose, kinked like CRAZY and was impossible for me to get any real pressure going so I never even used it, had to return. Try a Zero-g hose, woven fiber, worth every penny! Wish I just re-ordered that instead (which I've done now) but since the reviews were soooo good, I wanted to see what all the rage was about. I'm dumb founded, I'd have preferred a basic old green garden hose to this thing. - lol
This hose is supposed to be heavy duty and kink proof and it is neither! The weight of the nozzle kinks it. It folds and kinks. The only positive is its length I would return it but i live in a rural area and that wouldn't be an easy task Dont waste your time and money.
Worst Hose Ever: 1. Kinks constantly so can't be used easily for hand watering. The tiniest bend perpendicular to the flat side blocks flow . 2. Reduces water pressure due to flat profile and small 1/2" dianeter, increasing resistance. As a result, this hose can't be used for sprinklers without decreased efficiency. 3. Expensive price for flimsy, cheap material construction. Plastic ends and connections. Lightweight material for the hose bends constantly, causing kinks. Messy, not compact at all. (The algorithm wanted me to address these.) I wanted to use this for watering my garden but it cannot be used for this due to the above reasons. It couldn't even run my rainbird sprinkler because of the hose causing low pressure. I replaced this hose with a 3/4" diameter contractor grade hose and the rainbird runs fine now, so this hose was definitely the problem, not my water pressure. Buy a contractor grade hose for the same exact price as this cheap trash hose. Conclusion: Utterly useless hose, waste of money. DO NOT BUY.
I abhore this hose! I wish I would have read more before purchasing it. It's flat. Very hard to get water to come out unless it's held sideways with nothing pinching or crimp in it anyplace in the 50 ft. length. Seems to be made well but it's a pain in the rump to use it!
Construction is nice but 2 main issues. When the hose is not truly round then it is not 5/8” ID and has more pressure drop. At the fittings there are smaller openings than 5/8. As a rule of thumb you most of your pressure drop is from the smallest constriction.
