this is a great little microscope. perfect size for little hands (in my case is 7 year old). you have to supply your own batteries. it takes three AAA, but I like the fact that they are common AAA and not button batteries. this supplies endless amount of fun exploring the world around you. it was easy to set up and use it features an LED light it's foldable it has adjustable magnification. I would recommend this to anyone who wants their child to explore in and out of the house.

Very easy to put together. I did it without the directions. it is light weight so easy for kids of all ages to carry around to get a lot of use out of it. eventhough it is lightweight it is durable.

this is not a micro biologists microscope... it is a childs toy that will stimulate the mind, increase wonder and hopefully set my neighbors kids off on a good future for non criminal chemical, bio science futures. we first did a strand of our hair, then we did things we could find outside and that would fit into the small glass frames.

This is a nice little microscope. My teens are actually happy to have one of their own as they've only ever used microscopes in school. We looked at the different prepared slides and then made 2 on our own. When i was a younger child, many kids my age wanted microscopes and telescopes for their birthdays or Christmas, many kids don't want those items. I will say that my teens are really happy with this. Easy to use, set up, maintain, and then we pack it back in the box to keep it safe.

This is the coolest gift a child could receive. It encouraged curiosity about how the world looks up close and personal. Finding bugs and even regular everyday items will be fun when you can look at it up close. I can't imagine a child who wouldn't love tis as a gift.

i got this as a christmas present so will write a better review after seeing it used. great price and i think my 10 yr old grandson will love it

For the price I would definitely recommend. It is easy to assemble, and my kids love it. It's really fascinating to see the images. They were a little more clearer than I thought.

This is a perfect microscope for kids. It's easy to use. Set up might require an adult. After that, it's easy to use. It comes with 2 prepared slides %26 many more can be purchased.

Overall, this is a good toy microscope. Focus is limited. Some slides were difficult to enjoy with any definition, which frustrated my 8 year old. I do wish there was a place in the box that would allow it to be stored when assembled. I think a bit more practice and interaction will help lessen frustration.
