Things of note: %231. No on/off switch, or button. Plug in to turn on, and unplug to turn off. Fine by me. %232. My first attempt didn't work out well. I didn't bake long enough and the waffle wasn't done; it ripped apart and stuck to both sides. For my second attempt I used a different recipe that required olive oil in the batter. No sticking to the waffle maker. My second attempt worked great...once I learned how to lift the lid and check for doneness. Just lower the lid, and keep checking every minute. Have the temperature setting on high. %233. This is a more basic model, without bells and whistles. That is actually a big plus for me. Less to get screwed up. %234. When the light turns green it doesn't mean it's done. Check for doneness, lower the lid, and keep going until the desired result has been achieved. %235. Easy to use - once you develop the knack on how to wrangle this model.
Wow what a fabulous waffle maker! Really high quality and works really well. And me in my tiny apartment I am able to store it sideways so it takes up so much less space on my shelf! I'm very happy!
This is a great waffle iron. The batter never sticks and does not require cooking spray. If you're looking for a simple and basic waffle iron, I definitely recommend it.
I only used it once but I would say it's good value, just watch out when steaming means its cooking when it's stop it's done now u can decide u like it crispy leave it for another one minute. And wait for the light turn green before adding the batter just half way or else it well overflow.
I love this waffle maker. It took me a few try's to get my perfect waffle. I put the setting in the center %26 used enough batter to cover the grid completely. They turned out perfect! There were no instructions as to the amount of batter to use %26 no recipe . I used a Betty Crocker waffle recipe.
Works ok but be aware the green light indicating complete comes on quickly, even when doneness setting is as high as it will go. I left waffle in for several extra minutes for appropriate doneness. The temperature does seem to get hot enough after several minutes.
IT WAS ADVERTISED AS "IT CAN BE STORED ON ITS EDGE". NO... IT CAN'T BECAUSE WHEN IT IS STOOD ON EDGE THE WAFFLE MAKER DOOR FALLS OPEN AND ALSO THE CORD WHEN WRAPPED AROUND THE ?????? KEEPS THE WAFFLE MAKER FROM STANDING EVEN AND LEVEL. THE CORD DOES NOT FIT IN THE SPOT WHERE THE CORD CAN BE WRAPPED. EVERYTHING WITH THIS WAFFLE MAKER IS "POOR DESIGN". I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. I DON'T EXPECT THIS REPORT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ANY TYPE OF ACTION.
My husband used this first to make a waffle recipe which had eggs. I used it next to make a boxed waffle mix using whey for the liquid. Both times, the waffles came out rubbery and never crisped up, even on high. So unless there's something we're doing wrong, we're pretty disappointed.
i woudlnt reccomend this to ANYONE, if your trying to find a cheaper waffle iron....just pay the extra 5-10 bucks for a good one. this one ks so cheally made, it stinks of burnt plastic when in use, and it doesnt get hot enough to actually make a crispy waffle. its jusg a waffle shaped pancake, you also have to cook it double and a half the time to get it completely cooked or else itll be chewy/gooey. i thought my waffle recipe was the problem but ive tried 3 different recipes and the same result each time. just buy the $40 waffle maker and stay away from this onr!
We ordered this waffle maker because our last one quit working after over 20 years of constant use. We wanted something that would make small waffles and that had controls. Thought we had a winner, HOWEVER, even pushing the control to the highest level, the grids did not get hot enough to brown the waffles. We tried twice and both times we got soggy, anything but brown and crisp results! It is going back. Also the finish is not as nice as we had hoped, would be difficult to keep looking nice.
