I've used quite a few stud finders over the years, and the Franklin Sensors ProSensor M150 is easily one of the best I've used. There's no messing around trying to calibrate it or moving back and forth hoping you found the center. Put it against the wall, press the button, and the LEDs show the stud, including the edges and center. It's much more accurate and consistent than cheaper stud finders I've used. I also like that it detects wood and metal and has a live electrical warning. Pros: • No calibration needed • Shows center and both edges • 9 sensors • Detects wood and metal • 1.5” detection depth • Live electrical warning • Fast and easy to use Cons: • More expensive than basic models • Fairly large • Live-wire warning shouldn't replace a dedicated electrical tester

We use one of these at work (custom cabinet shop) for our installs, and knowing exactly where the stud is has been super helpful dozens of times. I ended up buying one for my own projects after enjoying it so much. I'm sure it will receive many years of use!

We are trying to find the studs in our wall to mount a 55" TV. It's difficult because we have an old house with slats in the wall, so a stud finder is not very effective. By using this one, a long with drilling multiple holes, we believe we have found the studs. Also appreciate the live wire detector,,!

I've used a lot of stud finders over the years, but the Franklin Sensors M150 is on a completely different level. What really stands out is the wide sensor array it doesn't just guess where a stud might be, it shows you exactly where it is across the wall in real time. I bought this stud finder to replace an old aging unit that had been dropped 20 or 30 times no longer functioned I'm very pleased with the accuracy of this unit easy to use and takes no calibration it will also find metal objects and power lines and of course Studs that are Behind the Walls. So far so good, this ProSensor M150 checks all the boxes.

So far I see it works great on sheetrock, easy to find the center and detects live electrical wires. On 3/4 wood tongue and groove boards it has problems with the grooves in them like the other stud finders I've had. Doesnt work on my tile over lath walls because of thickness as expected. Seems to work finding joists under my hardwood floors. Overall good product for normal surfaces.

I'm a trim carpenter. I love these for setting cabinets and running baseboard. I just wish they were a little more rugged. I've went through about 10 this year. Some were my fault because when I run them along the base I push down too for LVP. Other time they break in my tool bag. A more rugged one would be awesom

I placed online order with Walmart for $80. I never received my item and they do not want to solve the problem on one pretext or the other.
