I check my tires frequently, and adjust them as needed. I have analog and digital gauges, but I was very surprised on the quality of this item. It was well-packaged, and only needed the batteries, included, to be installed. There is an on/off button and a function button. The function button lets you choose 4 different settings of read-outs. Additionally, there is a thumb activated button valve to adjust tire pressures accurately by over-filling and bleeding off air to the desired pressure. The air inflation is accomplished by an index finger lever. The gauge is encased in a rubber sleeve to protect against drops and impacts from tools during use, as well as, storage. The inflating hose has a clip to attach to the tire valve, and there is a semi-circular fitting to hang the inflator on the air compressor or wall. This is a very good tool, and I recommend it.
I received the Freeman Digital Tire Inflator for review purposes. This is freeman model FATDTI, and it includes a back-lit digital display, standard quick release clip-on tire chuck for inflating most tires, and a standard ¼” NP male compressed air hose connector for attachment to a standard air compressor hose. Two AAA size batteries are also included, which are needed for the display to function. The inflator has a trigger style air control valve and a 20” flexible rubber inflator hose. The digital display is adjustable for PSI, kpa, bar and kg/cm, is back-lit, and has an on-off switch. The display automatically times out and shuts off after two minutes to prevent battery drain. While using in PSI mode, the display shows pressure in 1/10 of a pound increments from 0 up to 150 PSI. The trigger control is easy to control making filling to an exact pressure quick and easy. There is also a deflation valve above the tripper in case you overshoot your intended pressure or just need to reduce your pressure for some reason. Overall, the unit is light, easy to use and appears to be reasonably accurate when compared to other digital and non-digital tire pressure gauges.
I received this digital tire inflator and have no skills in the mechanics of this item. I sought out help to attach to the compressor, but found that the instructions were so clear that I needed no help with use of this item. This is an item when inflating sports equipment, the bicycle tire, or on the automobile is needed for the accurate amount of air to be placed in the item. I had a fear of not getting it correct and this item is the reassurance that I have done it correctly. I first used this on sports equipment, that my grandchildren use when visiting, seems they are never inflated correctly when the arrive. Now they can fix the problem and was needing to instruction to get inflated for use. The best thing of this item if not used daily it is needed when things are not ready for use and there is really not a thing available that is more reliable. Ease of use and ease of set up is the best even with no background in the use of tools. I personally like the digital readout as it never is a question is it the number desired, I would recommend it for every household.
This is a review for the Freeman FATDI Digital Tire Inflator with LED display. It has a brass air inlet of 1/4” NPT. A working pressure of 0-150 PSI. The brass pressure relief button, back-lit LED with auto shut-off is very helpful. There is also a brass chuck with stem lock. The stem lock gives a secure connection to prevent the air from leaking, and the hose is a 20” PVC/rubber hybrid with a swivel connector to make it easy to use the inflator in tight spaces. This comes in very handy with my grandsons dirt bike. The tires are very difficult to reach when needing to inflate them. The hose is very flexible and so far does not seem to want to kink. You can measure the pressure in increments of 0.01 PSI, or switch to other values such as Kpa, Bar, or Kg/cm. It states that you can refill tires with an accuracy of +/- 1 PSI when using a pneumatic compressor. Two AAA batteries are included. Checking the pressure of your tires frequently, helps you to extend the life of your tires and optimize gas mileage.
Finely made and durable.
The tire inflator with the LED screen is really nice. No more using the stick Psi indicators. It works with an air compressor, so you must have one in order to use. You simply hook the hose to the air compressor, just as you would any tool. Press the clip on the air chuck lever to put it on the tire valve. You have to do it fast, because once you start putting it on, air comes out. Once it's fully on, the tire is ready to be inflated or deflated. The screen is easy to read and displays the Psi. It has functions to switch between, Kpa, Bar, Kgf/cm2. I only have reason to use Psi, so I don't need the others. The trigger is easy to work and there is also a button to deflate the tire as well. The display is surrounded by a thick heavy duty rubber, so it should do fine being bumped or set down hard on the ground. The handle and trigger are metal, and the tube is heavy duty rubber. The tools is very sturdy and seems like it will last a long time. The only thing I could see wearing out or breaking is the screen with a thin plastic coat on it. I'd rather it be glass or a firm plastic. The thin plastic seems like you could split it easily or it will cut open on the “ON/OFF” or “FUNC” buttons. It requires 2 AAA batteries.
The Freeman FATDTI Digital Tire Inflator with LED Pressure Gauge is of aluminum alloy construction, which makes it lightweight and durable. Easy to opearate: just squeeze the pistol-style trigger to inflate tires, bikes, and other equipment. It is designed to be used with an air compressor. When not connected to an air compressor, you can check the pressure of your tires frequently, helping you extend the life of your tires and optimize gas mileage (2batteries included). W0hen connected to the compressor, you can refill tires with an accuracy of +/- 1 PSI. The lock-on brass chuck prevents air leakages.
This isn't my first tire gauge, but it's the first with back-light, and I like it! Actually, there are quite a few aspects I like: - First, and foremost, is the digital display - LARGE numbers (in several formats) that are easier to read than typical analogue versions. - Second, the back-light - VERY nice, especially when trying to inflate or top off a tire in the evening (or the night before a trip). - The valve stem clamp is also a very nice feature - saves holding the nozzle against the tire valve stem while trying to squeeze the inflater handle, and also read the gauge. - The digital display also allows me to read LOW pressures, like those required for my lawn tractor. Analogue gauges tend to START at the pressure I require and go up from there. - And last, but not least, the fractional part of the display takes the guesswork out of the exact pressure, unlike the gauge which tends to be a bit vague, especially when it casts a shador on the dial in sunlight. There are two slight "Cons", but certainly not deal-breakers: The fact that the LED gauge (and associated back-light) require batteries to work says that, at some point periodically, they'll need to be replaced. Not a biggie, but unnecessary on analogue versions. The overall construction is somewhat "lightweight" - suggesting this is probably better-suited for the home user vs. a more commercial application. Again, not a biggie, just something to note depending on your proposed usage. Bottom line, I like it and would definitely recommend it to others.
THE FREEMAN DIGITAL TIRE INFLATER WITH LED PRESSER GAUGE MAKES IT EASY TO SEE THE PRESSURE OF YOUR TIRES. NOT GUESSING AT THE NUMBERS. CONNECT THE INFLATER TO YOUR TIRES WITH THE BRASS CLIP ON CHUCK. YOU CAN MEASURE IN PSI OR KPA,BAR, OR KG/CM. I JUST KNOW PSI, DON'T KNOW WHERE KPA, BAR, OR KG/CM IS USED. IT HAS A TWENTY INCH FLEXIBLE HOSE WITH A SWIVEL HOSE CONNECTOR. THE PISTOL TRIGGER MAKES IT EASY TO INFLATE OR DEFLATE YOUR TIRES AS NEEDED. YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE OFTEN FOR GOOD GAS MILEAGE AND OPTIMUM TIRE WEAR. THIS MAKES IT EASY. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS IT USES BATTERIES. BUT, IT SHOWS YOU YOUR BATTERY LEVEL AND THE LED READOUT IS BACKLIT WITH A BRIGHT GREEN COLOR LIGHT. SO, IN THE DARK OR DIM LIT AREAS, NO FLASH LIGHT IS NEEDED.. OTHER THAN, IT IS EASY TO READ AND USE. TO INFLATE TIRES YOU WOULD NEED TO CONNECT IT TO A COMPRESSOR. OR JUST USE A PORTABLE COMPRESSOR THAT FITS IN A CAR. DON'T THINK THIS WILL CONNECT TO ONE LIKE THAT. IT IS JUST A LITTLE BULKY TO CARRY IN A VEHICLE WITH YOU. THIS LOOKS AND FEELS LIKE A DURABLE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THAT WOULD WORK WELL IN A GARAGE SETTING. OVERALL, THIS IS A GOOD TIRE GAUGE. NICE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.
It works great. My husband uses it all the time. I have even used it. Easy to use. Easy to read. A great . Had a little trouble figuring it out at first. But once we did it's smooth.
