honestly, I really liked it. the only thing I would tweak is the assembly. it just seems like there's a lot of parts where some stuff could come slightly. pre-assembled but other than that it's a great bang for the buck. it's working great
Well-made and uses so little space. Heavy duty construction and quite versitile.
Sturdy. Functional. Exactly what I needed. The barbell holder is very useful. The overall size is perfect. I used a vise grip, flat wrench, and pliers to easily put it together. One of the base legs was bent, but I was able to fix it with a hammer and vise grip. The perfect must have home gym accessory! Make sure you get this when it's back in stock!
Possibly the EASIEST straight-forward assembly I have ever done... as long as you have the right tools. This thing is built solid and packaged really well, AND engineered so that any moron can put it together. The only catch is that it doesn't come with tools to assemble it with, so you're going to need a decent adjustable wrench set AND a ratchet and socket set to make your life so much easier. These are things I already had, so it wasn't a big deal to me. Pro tip: assemble this on a flat surface rather than on carpet so that the fibers dont get caught in the side plates of the angled corner.
It assembled easily. It's very sturdy and compact. I have about 250 lbs of standard 1 inch weight plates on it. Plates are made up of 25s, 10s, and 5s. Owners Manual says it will hold 500 lbs but it would be tough to put that much on it unless you use all. 25 lb plates. It would be nice if it had 2 more slots to hold bars. There's enough space and I can't imagine it would add much to the manufacturing cost. All in all, I'm happy with the the quality at this great price point.
Well built and does a great job. I recommend this product.
I like that it takes up very little space, what I didn't like was that just a few of the bolts didn't line up that easily. Had to smack it a few times with a small hammer to line things up a bit.
This is a great space-saving design and it was easy to assemble. It takes up very little space in a corner. BUT, it is not well-designed. The top and bottom pegs are too close together. I have 45 and 35 lb weights which are tall enough to obstruct the weights on the top pegs, such that I can't really use the top ones. I am going to have to drill new holes to move the top pegs up myself in order to hang plates freely there. Disappointed in this design flaw.
It's important to know that this stand DOES NOT fit normal sized olympic plates well. The rack is short which is nice for saving space, but that means that a 45lb plate on one of the bottom racks will prohibit you from placing anything on the top unless you're ok with it not being flush. I bought this expecting it to be more like the racks in a 24 hour fitness or similar so am a bit disappointed with the final product. An olympic sized bar will also not fit in the bar slot on the back of this stand. This feature wasn't important to me so I'm not fussed about it, but again something important to note. Still, it gets the job done. Assembly was a bit difficult as the instructions are unclear (I had to use a wrench to hold one end of the nut in place and my ratchet wrench to tighten it from the other side), but once I figured it out it took ~30 minutes to finish. You get what you pay for here at $50. I now know why this is cheaper than other ones out there.
Purchased this and received it with missing parts, being the two triangular pieces that hold the rack upright. I have called multiple times with no answer and a full voice mail box, and left multiple emails, and have not received any response yet from the company, which is apparently Cap Barbell. Would not recommend.
