I try to hold off on writing reviews until I have had and used a product for a couple months at least. Originally, I went in to Walmart to purchase a Panasonic Microwave I had been wanting for a couple months. We needed a new one since the vintage (one of the 1st ones) one we were using didn’t seem to really heat as well as today’s microwaves. When I arrived to purchase the Panasonic (1 left it said online) microwave, there were none, and I searched the entire store. I looked up reviews for the microwaves available and my eye kept going to this Galanz one, never heard the brand before but it had all the features of interest to me and was the right size and wattage. While they had the Galanz with other features like air fryer, etc., I really just wanted a microwave and that’s what I got. Very simple to use, some people complain about the time being bright, it is but we don’t in the kitchen.
I’ve been using this microwave for a couple of weeks and am very impressed! The style is sleek and fits my decorative scheme perfectly. This microwave has many different settings and everything I have used works great. I love the defrost option, it actually defrosts without partially cooking the meat.
The Galanz microwave is a great size for those with small amounts of counter space, campers, rv's, college dorms, small apartments etc. It's size is 21 3/16" wide, 11 13/16" high and 16 1/4" deep. The turntable is 12 3/8" so from the picture, you can see that a platter will fit perfectly. It's 1.1 Cu. Ft and the cooking power is 1000 w. You'll need to keep the book handy till you get all the features figured out and cooking times etc. The control panel is different than any I have seen so I still have a lot to learn in running it. The only 2 negative issues with it was setting the clock. I had to give up on it till it was say 6:00 with no minutes as I couldn't get the minutes without canceling the hour. The second was, the clock/times light is so bright, it was messing with our eyes. We were getting almost blurred lights, probably because we both have eye troubles. We remedied it by taking an unused white address lable and putting it over it. Now, it still shines through but we can both look at it and make out the time without any problem at all. We have a lot to learn about it. It comes with a nice plastic 'sheet' that's a quick start guide for use, cooking and I just discovered the instructions on it for setting the clock are much clearer than in the book so when the power goes out, I can reset it much easier. For those with children or ones in the household that need protection, there are instructions for locking it and unlocking it. It's going to be great not only for rewarming things but cooking them as well. I've only done warming veggies and coffee so far. Tonight it will be tested out on cooking salmon.
This is one of the better microwaves I've had the pleasure of owning I love the fact that you can quickly turn the knob push in and off it's going cooking that quickly. Don't have to look for the buttons when your in a hurry and the look is sleek. Has a great silver layout and looks great in my kitchen. Matches easily to other appliances too. It cooks great to and even has push buttons for certain foods like popcorn exc. Definitely recommend it to anyone who loves fast easily cooking with a great looking microwave. You should get this one if in the market you won't be disappointed
Overall this is a great microwave for the price. It has alot of options for the sensor cooking and its all easily accessed and printed on the inside of the door. I honestly didnt have great expectations for the sensor cooking but I do have to say it works quite well on most items, sometimes I might prefer to add 30 seconds...and there is a button for that. Its a new and practical design to me with a turn knob to adjust the timer . My favorite features are the presets and ajustable power level.
I am a spark reviewer for Walmart and today I will be reviewing the Galanz ExpressWave 1.1 Cu ft Sensor cooking Microwave Oven in Stainless Steel. The product arrived well packaged and in great shape. It's a nice medeum sized Microwave with 1,000 watts of power. More than enough to handle any cooking project. It has a twelve inch glass turntable, but most of all are the features that make it special. It has six sensor cooking modes from defrost, to cooking, to reheat and more It also has a sensor control knob that makes everything fool proof! The stainless and black design allows it to fit perfectly in any decor. I would recomend this microwave to anyone!
This microwave is different from any others I've ever had so the difference is it doesn't tell you how many minutes on something that needs to be either cooked or heated up you're supposed to go with this legend that they have that's called for heating up or cooking and then it gives the time so it's not quite what I would have wanted, but it's OK
Galanz ExpressWave sensor cooking microwave oven model # GSWWD11S1S10 is a large counter-top microwave. To be more precise, it is 1.1 cu. ft. of total cooking space. Like most of today’s microwaves in this price range, it has designated and programmable touch buttons for different types of food. This one also has a rotating level selector knob which can adjust time and meal portions without using the above buttons. I found the level selector knob a lot quicker to adjust specific time than manually punching numbers into buttons. There is also a child lock button that I never saw on other microwaves which is an interesting feature. One of the most striking features of Galanz ExpressWave is its exterior design. It is stainless steel with a microwave door window tinted black and chrome plated rotating knob. Rotating knob looks like an idea taken from a luxury car. Galanz microwave has a very large exterior dimension which should be taken into consideration because it does take a lot of counter space. It is about 21.5 inches wide by 15.5 inches deep and about one foot high. The weight is a little bit over 30 pounds which is about average for its class. Overall I think Galanz ExpressWave microwave is a very functional and nice design which is why I would recommend it.
I like our Galanz ExpressWave Sensor Cooking Microwave Oven. It's sharp looking. I placed it in the corner of the kitchen counter underneath the cupboards. It fits perfectly and makes an unusable space usable. Had I not had a corner, the microwave would have taken up a lot of space on the counter. I do prefer using the dial to set the cook time, timer, etc., over my last microwave that only had buttons to push. It seems to be more intuitive. I like the red and black reference guide sheet that accompanied the microwave. I keep it in a kitchen drawer. Basically, it's an easily understood condensed version of the User Manual. The reference guide explains how to: use the microwave; sensor cook; sensor reheat; use pre-set buttons; lock function; use different power levels, and set the clock. The reference guide, in conjunction with the cooking label located inside the microwave, will help make cooking so much easier and quicker. The pre-set buttons on the control panel are great! It has a popcorn pre-set button. How can that not be great? Speaking of popcorn, microwave popcorn bags, for the most part, have butter flavoring. With the outside of the microwave having partial stainless steel, fingerprints do show up easily. If you like your appliances to always look clean and smudge-free, you might keep the stainless steel feature in mind. It sure looks nice when there aren't smudges. Overall, I give the Galanz ExpressWave microwave two thumbs up.
Run away. This microwave looked cool with the knob (plus it was on rollback at the time—sweet!)., but dear lord. I would pay someone to take this away. Here is the saga of issues: The door only opens when it wants to. That’s right. No matter what ratio of pressure vs time pushed in. You have to push the button with one hand then pry the door open with the other. (0/10, cannot open with food in hand) The timer is hidden. Yep. You enter time on the timer and then it disappears. You can only see the countdown when you push the button again ( careful! If you push it twice, you turn it off altogether!) then it goes back to the time clock, then disappears again. This process is very annoying. The timer only announces with one beep. When you are cooking something and you set the timer, I feel like it’s not too much to ask to have the timer continually “beep” until you push a button to acknowledge it’s done-ness. Nope. This one has one short little beep—not even a beep, more like a bep. Get something else. This one was money down the drain. Guess I’ll go waste money on another microwave....
