Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray)

One of the discs was defective (Season 1 - Disc 2 - Episodes 4-6) Had to contact support for the replacement (complete set for one defective disc) They were responsive and had provided a functional set. (quick turn-around, had the replacement set in two days) My only grievance that would remain is more a buyer beware warning is that the earlier seasons don't have the same quality of definition as the latter seasons. 4K is more obvious the standard of quality provided on seasons 5-8. As for the price. GREAT! Got it online as 4K for the same price as the store has on the shelf for the standard Blue-Ray set. On the right TV - the differences are quite obvious and worth going 4K if you enjoy the movie experiences like I do.

I have only watched the first 3 seasons of this collection so far. I average 1 season per week, so it will be a while before I finish all 8 seasons. I have seen all of the episodes before in various formats, so this review is only for the 4K collection. Visually the appears to be more detail in this format and since I am familiar withe the story line it is interesting to watch the plot and character development. Season 1 played satisfactorily. Season 2 was mostly OK, but episode 6 froze part way through. Season 3 had several problems. The episodes played out of sequence and the titles did not match what was being played. Also, one episode was missing and another was duplicated on different discs. I may supplement this review once I have watched more of this collection.

Show looks great in 4k. 1080p doesn't hold a candle to it. However each episode seems to have some glitch that freezes and skips 6-8 seconds of content. It doesn't appear to be a scratch from what I can tell, as they are brand spanking new and look perfect. So I'm not sure what's going on there. It's a bit disappointing but not a deal breaker enough to not watch in 4k

What I ordered "Game of Thrones", (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray). I have heard that there has been problems with "Game of Thrones" in the past, so I thought that having it in two different formats, I would be safe. However, The series was 100% 4K, only the special features disks were Blu-ray. It wasn't advertised, but it did come with a "Digital Copy", but it expired 8 months ago, so there really is no digital copy. The series did have two defective disks that would not play, season 2, episode 10, and Season 3, episodes 4,5,6. The 4k was great for the rest of it.

Disk 2 was not cut. It was totally blank. Took the insurance, was a joke. Said to return it to the maker. I did not play the rest, perhaps those as well, who knows.

This was a gift. Shipping was great, received very quickly! I was very disappointed in the quality of the disks and the holders! Some disks did not playback correctly, we were unable to watch due to problems. I have returned this item gor a complete refind!

When you pay hundreds for a product you expect it to be what you paid for. First off two of the cases are broken and don't close shut, second the digital copies are NOT in 4K resolution! You get 1080 resolution for a 4K bought set. I am highly disappointed that I did NOT get what I paid for. Broken cases and only 1080p digital copies is NOT acceptable!

The 2nd episode of season 1 froze then skipped to episode three. I found this same problem on this complete series I bought from another online seller, which I returned. So far only 2 skips into the middle of season 2 but on a new 4K Blu Ray set at almost $200.00 there shouldn't be any skips. I have ordered cleaning cloths and will give the discs a cleaning and see if that helps. But this is something quality control should always be testing for and fixing any problems before being sent to resellers. I worked for CENDANT Software and know these problems have to be caught prior to leaving the plant.

Great Series! No expense spared to create amazing visuals, dialogue, scripting, costumes, set design, cinematography, beautiful lighting, the right actors and directors. I have the Blu Rays and they are great. Bought the 4K Blu Ray set twice: Skippy peanut butter! Both times (from different vendors) they skipped or froze in the same places. I returned the first set to AM. and bought the second from Walmart. I am only into season 2 episode 5 and have 8 skips and two freezes. I would say it is a manufacturing/quality control issue that they just pushed on to the consumer. I will buy micro fiber cleaning cloths and hope that helps otherwise I will return them and wait for a new production run. I have a new Sony 4K Blu Ray player and on other 4K's: no problems. Dolby Atmos? Anemic! I have a new Denon AVR-X6700H and 11 Klisph Atmos speakers... Clear dialog and side speakers sound. Overhead and surround effects? Barely and sparingly. Not up to par for such a dynamic series! However, the visuals do have great details. But again, the surround immersive experience is so so on this release version. Anyone else noticing how Covid lowered quality and raised prices?
